摘要: In one aspect, the present invention provides a chromatographic stationary phase material for various different modes of chromatography represented by Formula 1: [X](W)a(Q)b(T)c (Formula 1). X can be a high purity chromatographic core composition having a surface comprising a silica core material, metal oxide core material, an inorganic-organic hybrid material or a group of block copolymers thereof. W can be absent and/or can include hydrogen and/or can include a hydroxyl on the surface of X. Q can be a functional group that minimizes retention variation over time (drift) under chromatographic conditions utilizing low water concentrations. T can include one or more hydrophilic, polar, ionizable, and/or charged functional groups that chromatographically interact with the analyte. Additionally, b and c can be positive numbers, with the ratio 0.05≤(b/c)≤100, and a≥0.

摘要: A sorbent useful for CO2 capture is described, including a solid support with CO2-sorbing amine and ionic liquid thereon. The ionic liquid is catalytically effective to enhance sorbent characteristics such as (i) CO2 sorption capacity, (ii) CO2 sorption rate, (iii) CO2 desorption capacity, (iv) CO2 desorption rate, and (v) regeneration temperature, in relation to a corresponding sorbent lacking the ionic liquid. In specific implementations, the sorbent is regenerable at temperatures significantly below 100° C., thereby avoiding the need for steam heat desorption and enabling utilization of waste heat or other low energy thermal regeneration sources.

摘要: A disposable, virus-trapping membrane, and a corresponding method to remove viruses from solution are described. The membrane includes a disposable, micro-porous filter membrane and a ligand immobilized on the membrane. The ligand irreversibly and selectively binds viruses. The ligand also has a pKa sufficiently high to repel antibodies via electrostatic charge repulsion.

摘要: Disclosed is a device for a solid phase extraction comprising two or more of the sorbents to remove phospholipids and salts from a sample, to thereby eliminate matrix effects during mass spectrometry analysis. In particular, the sorbents includes at least one sorbent which is water-wettable and contains at least one hydrophobic component and at least one hydrophilic component and at least one of sorbent having a specific affinity for a matrix interference like phospholipids. Further disclosed is a method using the device of the present invention.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a water treatment process for efficiently removing oils from oil-containing water.The water treatment process is a method for treating oil-containing water, comprising the steps of: preparing an oil-adsorbing material that is made of a lipophilic resin such as a pyridine resin and that has many pores in its surface and bears hydrophilic groups on an inner surface of the pores; and bringing oil-containing water into contact with the surface of the oil-adsorbing material. The step of preparing an oil-adsorbing material includes the step of converting some of hydrophobic groups, such as nitrogen-containing aromatic rings, on the inner surface of the pores to hydrophilic groups such as quaternized amine or sulfonic acid.
