摘要: The present invention provides a method for synthesizing a bifunctional pure organic photocatalytic material with the capabilities of fast adsorption and efficient degradation. By means of reasonably introducing a perylene imide group into an amphiphilic block copolymer, a micelle for treating contaminants in water is formed by self-assembly. The present invention features the advantages in that the micelle formed by self-assembly of the perylene-based amphiphilic block polymer is uniform in size, exhibits ultra-high adsorption capacity on bisphenol A, and can rapidly reach a stable adsorption equilibrium at various concentrations or temperatures. The micelle also demonstrates, in a mixed phenol solution, significant recognition selectivity and good affinity for bisphenol A. In addition, the micelle has rapid degradation efficiency on bisphenol A. The present invention provides a new design concept for the advanced treatment of wastewater by using a metal-free organic material.

摘要: A method for producing a nanocomposite sorbent comprising carbon nanotube-grafted acrylic acid/acrylamide copolymer which involves copolymerization of acrylic acid and acrylamide in the presence of an aqueous dispersion of carbon nanotubes. The method yields a nanocomposite sorbent material having a reversible adsorption capacity phenol of 5 to 2500 μg of phenol per mg of nanocomposite sorbent. Also disclosed is a method for removing organic pollutants from water using the nanocomposite sorbent.

摘要: A specially functionalized composite filter material with a high specific surface area is used to adsorb PFAs from potable water. In a preferred embodiment, the base filter material is granular activated carbon (GAC), which is sequentially coated with a thin layer of polydopamine, a thin layer of partially oxidized iron, and a thin coating of octadecylamine. After PFAs are adsorbed onto the coated GAC particles, the PFAs are removed by a rinsing process, and remain in the rinse effluent. GAC particles are recovered and recoated as needed to restore their adsorptive capacity. The PFA-containing effluent is treated using photochemical processes to destroy the PFA molecules. The now PFA-free effluent can be disposed of as a non-hazardous material. The composite filter material works in systems ranging from small passive systems for personal use to large scale, high-flow-rate utility water treatment systems.

摘要: The present invention discloses a method for recycling heavy oil produced water for use in a steam injection boiler without desilication, comprising: the heavy oil produced water sequentially undergoes pre-treatment, filtration treatment and divalent and trivalent scaling ion removal by using a macroporous weak acid resin and the like. The method may reduce the concentration of the divalent and trivalent scaling ions in the heavy oil produced water to below 50 μg/L, and can recycle high-silicon-containing heavy oil produced water for use in the steam injection boiler without desilication. Further disclosed is a system for recycling heavy oil produced water for use in a steam injection boiler without desilication.

摘要: An asymmetric system containing a first conductive polymer modified with a redox active moiety and a second conductive polymer modified with a surfactant is used for the separation of organic compounds from aqueous solutions. The asymmetric system has complementary hydrophobicity tunability in response to electrochemical modulations. For example, both materials are hydrophobic in their respective neutral states, therefore exhibiting affinity toward organic compounds. Application of a mild potential drives the desorption of the organic compounds and regeneration of the materials. The asymmetric system can be used in a cyclic fashion, through repeated electrical discharge or shorting of the two electrodes to program the capture of organics from a feed solution, and application of a potential to stimulate the release of the adsorbed organics.
