摘要: The present invention provides a method for synthesizing a bifunctional pure organic photocatalytic material with the capabilities of fast adsorption and efficient degradation. By means of reasonably introducing a perylene imide group into an amphiphilic block copolymer, a micelle for treating contaminants in water is formed by self-assembly. The present invention features the advantages in that the micelle formed by self-assembly of the perylene-based amphiphilic block polymer is uniform in size, exhibits ultra-high adsorption capacity on bisphenol A, and can rapidly reach a stable adsorption equilibrium at various concentrations or temperatures. The micelle also demonstrates, in a mixed phenol solution, significant recognition selectivity and good affinity for bisphenol A. In addition, the micelle has rapid degradation efficiency on bisphenol A. The present invention provides a new design concept for the advanced treatment of wastewater by using a metal-free organic material.

摘要: This invention relates to compositions and methods for improving the adhesion of resin compositions to substrate materials, pre-treating substrate materials to improve the adhesion of resin compositions to the substrate materials, and/or controlling gel formation of resin compositions. More particularly, the invention relates to compositions and methods for improving the adhesion of ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) compositions to substrate materials using adhesion promoters containing isocyanate groups in a resin composition. The invention also relates to methods for improving the adhesion of resin compositions to substrate materials by pre-treating substrate materials with adhesion promoters containing isocyanate groups. The invention further relates to a method of providing a gel-modified ROMP composition, in which a hydroperoxide is added to a ROMP polymerizable resin composition in order to control gel formation of the polymerizing resin. An improved ROMP composition is further disclosed, comprising a cyclic olefin, a ROMP metathesis catalyst, an adhesion promoter, and an added hydroperoxide gel modifier. The polymer products produced via ROMP reactions of the invention may be utilized for a wide range of materials and composite applications. The invention has utility in the fields of catalysis, organic synthesis, and polymer and materials chemistry and manufacture.

摘要: Materials (e.g., particles, hydrogels) that provide extended release of one or more therapeutic agents are useful platforms for drug delivery. In part, the present invention relates to new triblock (ABC) bottlebrush copolymers which can be used in the formulation of particles and hydrogels for the extended release of therapeutic agents. In certain embodiments, the triblock bottlebrush copolymers, particles, and hydrogels described herein are thermally-responsive and gel at physiological temperature (e.g., upon administration to a subject), providing injectable and/or implantable gels which can be used for extended release drug delivery. The present invention also provides methods for extended release drug delivery, and methods of treating and/or preventing a disease or conditions in a subject, using the inventive copolymers, particles, and hydrogels. In addition, the present invention provides methods of preparing the triblock bottlebrush copolymers described herein.

摘要: A supported catalyst system is based on a transition metal carbene including the moiety M1=CR*)2, wherein M1 is the transition metal and R* is hydrogen or a C1-C8 hydrocarbyl. The catalyst system can be supported on a metal oxide support such as silica or the catalyst can be self-supporting. Methods of making the catalyst system can involve precursors based on and/or reacted with aluminum alkyls, halides, and/or alkoxides. Methods of polymerizing cyclic olefins with the catalyst system can obtain polyalkenamers, cyclic olefin polymers, cyclic olefin copolymers, and other metathesis reaction products. The supported catalyst and/or monomer can be recovered and recycled to the polymerization reactor.
