Abstract: A robotic work tool system, comprising a charging station and a robotic work tool, said robotic work tool comprising two charging connectors arranged on an upper side of the robotic work tool and said charging station comprising two charging connectors and a supporting structure arranged to carry said charging connectors and to extend over and above said robotic work tool as the robotic work tool enters the charging station for establishing electrical contact between the charging connectors of the robotic work tool and the charging connectors of the charging station from above, wherein said supporting structure is arranged to allow the robotic work tool exit the charging station by driving through the charging station without reversing.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a hybrid transmission. In one example, a method for a hybrid transmission, comprising, adjusting voltage on an inverter of an electric motor prior to disconnecting or connecting a battery contact in response to a transition between a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, a battery and at least the electric motor are used to power rotation of a transmission output shaft. In the second mode, an engine and at least the electric motor are used to power rotation of the transmission output shaft. In one example, the adjusting is initiated in response to a request to transition between the first mode and the second mode. In one example, the method includes controlling current to the battery to within a non-zero threshold of zero in response to the request to transition the first mode to the second mode.

Abstract: A wireless in-wheel electric motor assembly having a wheel, an electric motor disposed within the wheel, the electric motor including a stator and a rotor, a receiving coil disposed within the wheel and operable to receive wirelessly transmitted energy, a first converter disposed within the wheel, electrically coupled to the receiving coil and operable to convert the wirelessly transmitted energy from the receiving coil into direct current, an inverter circuit disposed within the wheel, electrically coupled to the conversion circuit and the electric motor, and operable to power the electric motor. The wireless in-wheel electric motor assembly further includes a cooling system disposed within the wheel that includes a micro pump operable to pump coolant, a fluid line operable to pass the coolant proximate at least one of the conversion circuit and the inverter circuit, and a heat exchanger operable to receive heated coolant and dissipate heat to the environment.

Abstract: A vehicle body includes an accommodating portion that accommodates a battery pack. A communication hole, which connects the outside and the inside the accommodating portion, is formed in one of the side walls of the vehicle body. The battery pack includes battery cells and a sealed case that accommodates the battery cells. The sealed case includes a case main body having an opening and a lid member fixed to the case main body. The lid member has a first releasing portion and a second releasing portion. A connecting portion for connecting a charging plug to the battery pack is inserted in the communication hole. The connecting portion is connected to the battery cells via wires. The first releasing portion and the second releasing portion are arranged to face a wall of an accommodating body.

Abstract: A dual battery charging and discharging system controls the configuration of multiple batteries arranged in multiple battery banks. The batteries within each bank are connected in series when powering an electrical load, such as a service motor, and are connected in parallel when charging. A microprocessor monitors the voltage levels of the batteries in each bank and controls relays to switch the electrical load over to a charged battery bank when the voltage level of the discharging battery bank drops below a minimum run threshold. The microprocessor also monitors the voltage levels of the charging battery bank and controls relays to cease charging when the voltage level rises above a minimum charge threshold. The batteries are charged by an alternator driven by a drive motor through a gear reduction system.

Abstract: A power supply system with automatic switchover voltage for vehicle control unit is proposed. The system comprises a supply communication module configured to communicate with a vehicle control unit, the supply communication module comprising a power supply module to provide power for a vehicle control unit; and a communication device coupled to the supply communication module for showing power supply status; wherein the supply communication module provides a first direct voltage and communicates with the vehicle control unit before supplying power, and if the supply communication module does not receive any message from the vehicle control unit within a first time interval, the supply communication module automatically switches to a second direct voltage from the first direct voltage or automatically increases the first direct voltage within a second time interval, and supplies power to the vehicle control unit; and wherein the second direct voltage is greater than the first direct voltage.

Abstract: A system for fast charging an electric vehicle includes a power plug, a charger, a stationary battery, a DC/DC converter, at least one DC fast charge connector and a control unit. The power plug may be a plug which is operatively configured to engage with a standard 120V power source or a 240V power source. The charger may be a unidirectional charger or a bidirectional charger. The DC fast charge connector is adapted to be removably affixed to an electric vehicle. The control unit is in communication with at least two of the charger, the DC/DC converter, the stationary battery, and the DC fast charge connector to provide fast charge to an electric vehicle.

Abstract: An electric power retention distribution cell apparatus and method of operation of the cell includes a rechargeable battery assembly, a bi-directional inverter and a switch control operatively connectable to an electric utility grid, an outside power charging supply and at least one end user wherein the cell is selectively switched between the electric utility grid and the battery assembly to supply electric power to the one or more end users. The cell is connected to the power charging supply for charging the battery assembly, and for dividing the battery assembly into groups of batteries for storage at a lower terminal output voltages of each group than the battery assembly output voltage when in use as the primary power supply. Electric power supply networks are also described for a utility hub network formed using two or more cells, and for a regional utility hub network formed using multiple utility hubs.
