摘要: A bicycle configured for communication with other bicycles, a centralized server, client computing devices and third party servers allows the rider to be connected with friends, coaches/trainers, and third party vendors including vendors associated with lodging, food, and other conveniences, vendors associated with bike servicing, equipment, warranties, and other bike related products and services, and vendors associated with routes, areas or destinations. Information may be communicated in real time or stored in memory and communicated to servers, client devices, other riders, etc., at a later date. Information may be communicated to the bike controller for route planning, service scheduling, training purposes and the like. Information communicated to or from the bicycle may be performed as indicated by the rider or there may be predetermined rules or guidelines for what information is collected and to whom the information may be sent to or received from.

摘要: A bicycle controller includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit controls a transmission device that changes a ratio of a rotational speed of a wheel of a bicycle to a rotational speed of a crank of the bicycle, and a motor that transmits torque to an upstream side of the transmission device in a transmission path of a manual driving force that is input to the crank. The electronic control unit switches between a first mode that drives the motor in accordance with the manual driving force and a second mode that allows the motor to be driven to assist walking of the bicycle. The electronic control unit controls the transmission device to change the ratio upon detection of the electronic control unit switching between the first mode and the second mode or the electronic control unit being in the second mode.

摘要: An electrically power assisted bicycle includes an electric motor, a detachable battery that supplies electric power to at least the electric motor, and an operation panel including a controller configured or programmed to control the display in a time display area and a built-in battery that supplies electric power to the controller. When the detachable battery is attached to the electrically power assisted bicycle and the electrically power assisted bicycle is in a power-on state, the controller is supplied with the electric power from the detachable battery. When the electrically power assisted bicycle is turned on from a power-off state in a state where a remaining capacity of the built-in battery is insufficient, the controller displays, in the time display area, information indicating that the remaining capacity of the built-in battery is insufficient.

摘要: An electrically power assisted bicycle includes a driving system including an electric motor that generates an assist force to assist human power of a rider and a first controller configured or programmed to control an operation of the electric motor; and an operation panel including buttons and a second controller. The buttons include a power button that turns on or off a power of the driving system, and an assist force setting button that sets an assist force of the electric motor. The second controller detects a press on each of the buttons to execute a predefined process. When the second controller detects a specific operation different from a normal operation on at least one button among the buttons while electric power is supplied to the driving system and the second controller is operated in a normal operation mode, the second controller prohibits the power from being turned off.

摘要: A bicycle controller and a bicycle controlling method reduces a distance a bicycle travels before a motor is stopped regardless of whether pedaling is stopped in a state where a rotation speed of the crank is high. The bicycle controller includes an electronic control unit that controls a motor, which assists pedaling of a bicycle, based on a manual driving force and angle information related to an angle of a crank of the bicycle. If the crank is rotated by a predetermined angle or greater in a state where the manual driving force is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold value while the motor is driven, then the electronic control unit stops the motor.

摘要: A bicycle drive unit basically has a transmission, a motor and a resultant force member. The motor is configured to transmit rotation to the transmission, and a resultant force member to which rotation from the transmission and from the manual drive force is transmitted. The transmission has a first sun gear, a second sun gear, a first ring gear, a second ring gear, a first planetary gear, a second planetary gear and a third planetary gear. The first, second and third planetary gears are separate individual gears. The first planetary gear is engaged with the first sun gear and the first ring gear. The second planetary gear is engaged with the second sun gear and the third planetary gear. The third planetary gear is engaged with the second planetary gear and the second ring gear.
