    摘要: Driving an electromotor and a brushed electromotor in particular results in ripples in the supply current. The amount of pulses is proportional to the amount of revolutions of the rotor of the electromotor. With a flawless motor, the amount of pulses is the same with each revolution. Flaws of the electromotor, in brushes, rotor, windings and/or other components, results in fluctuations of pulses in the supply current per revolution of the rotor. By comparing an expected amount of pulses to counted pulses and using various physical parameters of the electromotor, various methods may be employed to correct a counted amount of pulses or otherwise provide an appropriate value representing displacement of the rotor of the electromotor. The time between counted pulses may also be used for determining slip of a slip coupling comprised by a drive train to which the electromotor may be coupled.

    摘要: An example non-transitory machine-readable storage medium includes instructions to determine whether a cooling fan is controlled by pulse wave modulation (PWM) or is voltage-controlled. When executed, the instructions cause a processor of a computing device to transmit first and second PWM test signals at different PWM duties to a fan connector connected to the cooling fan, receive a first and second fan speed signals in response, and determine, when the first fan speed signal is not equal to the second fan speed signal, that the cooling fan is a PWM-controlled fan. The instructions further cause the processor to transmit first and second voltage test signals at different voltages to the fan connector, receive a third fan and fourth speed signal in response, and determine, when the third fan speed signal is not equal to the fourth fan speed signal, that the cooling fan is a voltage-controlled fan.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to a method for operating a rotational speed sensor of a motor vehicle with a signal encoder ring having a plurality of magnet elements arranged uniformly over its circumference with alternating orientation, and with a signal receiver having at least two sensor elements arranged uniformly apart from one another for sensing magnetic fields of the magnets. Information bits are generated based on magnetic field strengths detected by the sensor elements and made available as a rotational speed information signal. At a low rotational speed, an additional rotational speed information signal is generated and added to the rotational speed information signal. The additional signal comprises additional rotational speed pulses inserted between two normal rotational speed pulses. As a result, a plurality of rotational speed pulses are available per period of the encoder ring and a higher resolution of determination of the speed becomes possible.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for resistive short circuit immunity for wheel speed sensor interface on a braking system. In one embodiment the apparatus includes a first circuit for generating a first periodic signal based on first current transmitted to a wheel speed sensor and a second circuit for generating a second periodic signal based on second current, some or all of which is received from the wheel speed sensor. A circuit is provided for selecting the first periodic signal for output if a magnitude of the second current is greater than a magnitude of the first current, or the second periodic signal for output if a magnitude of the second current is not greater than the magnitude of the first current. The selected first or second periodic signal contains information relating to a speed of a wheel that is associated with the wheel speed sensor.
