Abstract: The invention pertains to a method for planning a vehicle utilization of a vehicle (1), wherein at least one vehicle component is preconditioned during the vehicle utilization. The invention is characterized in that a point in time, a duration and/or a number of vehicle downtimes to be carried out during vehicle utilization are selected such that at least one traction battery (2) of the vehicle (1) has a charging status within a defined state of charging status area (3) at the beginning of a vehicle downtime, so that an amount of electrical energy provided by a boil-off management system during the vehicle downtime is stored completely in the traction battery (2) or is stored partially in the traction battery (2) and consumed completely by a third-party consumer (4) during the vehicle downtime, and an amount of electrical energy available in the traction battery (2) at the beginning of the vehicle downtime is sufficient to heat a fuel cell system (5) of the vehicle (1) to an operating temperature at the end of the vehicle downtime.

Abstract: An embodiment oil temperature control system for an electric vehicle includes a heat exchange unit that performs heat exchange between an oil for cooling a driving motor and a coolant, a temperature sensor including an oil temperature sensor or an outside air temperature sensor, a controller that receives a signal from the temperature sensor to determine whether a heat generation mode entry condition to cause a power electronic part to generate heat is satisfied and operates the power electronic part in a heat generation mode when the heat generation mode entry condition is satisfied, and a cooling system that allows the coolant used to cool the power electronic part operating in the heat generation mode to circulate through a passage penetrating the heat exchange unit so that the coolant exchanges heat with the oil in the heat exchange unit.

Abstract: A control apparatus includes: a control unit that controls torque of a rotating electric machine by performing switching control of an inverter; a temperature sensor that detects a temperature of a temperature detection target which is at least one of the machine and the inverter; and a current sensor that detects electric current flowing through the temperature detection target and has higher responsiveness than the temperature sensor. The control unit includes an overheat protection unit that limits the torque of the machine when the temperature detection target is in an overheated state. The overheat protection unit determines whether the temperature detection target is in the overheated state based on the temperature detected by the temperature sensor when an operating point of the machine is within a continuous operation region, and based on the electric current detected by the current sensor when the operating point is within a short-time operation region.

Abstract: An electrified vehicle includes a storage compartment positioned forward of a vehicle passenger cabin and accessible by opening a vehicle hood, a thermally conductive plate or heat exchanger in contact with a bottom surface of the storage compartment and having an associated conduit configured for circulating a working fluid from a vehicle cooling system, and a valve operable to control flow of the working fluid through the conduit. The storage compartment may be filled with a cooling medium, such as ice or dry ice, to provide enhanced cooling during high-demand operation or charging of the vehicle, such as when operating in a performance/track mode, towing a trailer, or in other extreme use scenarios. The valve may be controlled so that the working fluid bypasses the conduit when the storage compartment is used for cargo and/or enhanced cooling is not desired.
