摘要: The present invention provides methods and systems to accurately detect and measure levels of endogenous antibodies, for examples endogenous IgA, to particular antigens in a biological sample from a companion animal, which is useful to diagnose inflammatory conditions, including bowel disease (IBD), gastrointestinal infections, and food sensitivities in companion animals, e.g., dogs or cats, and to distinguish among such gastrointestinal disorders. Such methods and systems identify whether a sample from the patient is associated with an inflammatory condition, infection, and/or food sensitivity condition, by using non-invasive means, thus conveniently providing information useful for guiding treatment decisions.

摘要: Disclosed is a biochemical-immunological hybrid biosensor. The biochemical-immunological hybrid biosensor includes a reaction strip in the form of a porous membrane through which a sample moves by capillary action. The reaction strip can simultaneously measure heterogeneous multiple biomarkers through both a biochemical analysis and an immunoassay in an independent manner based on membrane chromatography to diagnose a particular disease.

摘要: The present invention is directed an immunoassay method, which re-uses an antibody-immobilized test probe and reagents for quantitating an analyte in different samples, anywhere from about 3 to 20 times, while maintaining acceptable clinical assay performance. The method regenerates the test probe by dipping the test probe in an acidic solution having pH about 1-4, after the completion of each cycle of reaction. The present invention is also directed to a unitized cartridge (a strip) for an immunoassay test. Each unitized cartridge contains all necessary reagents can be used for 3-20 cycles to measure 3-20 different samples.

摘要: The present invention provides methods of detecting infection using biomarkers. The methods disclosed herein include measuring the expression level of one or more polypeptide determinants in which the alteration of the expression level indicates infection of the patient. The methods provided herein are for distinguishing between bacterial infection, mixed infection, and/or viral infection. The methods disclosed herein may also further comprise measuring one or more non-polypeptide determinants. The present disclosure also provides methods for selection of a treatment regimen for the subject based on whether the subject is identified as having a bacterial or mixed infection, or a viral infection.

摘要: A diagnostic method for inflammatory diseases, and the diagnostic kit used in the method. The diagnostic method includes the use of a novel tryptophan metabolite, 5-methoxytryptophan (5-MTP), as a diagnostic biomarker of inflammation. Specifically, a highly specific competitive ELISA is provided to measure 5-MTP level in human serum for gauging occurrence and severity of inflammatory diseases, including sepsis and systemic lupus.
