Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems to determine a subject's metabolic vulnerability index (MVX) score using at least one defined mathematical model of risk. The methods comprise evaluating various biomarkers to distinguish various health risks. In one embodiment, the method comprises evaluating biomarkers to determine a relative risk of premature all-cause mortality. The model may include NMR-derived measurements of GlycA, S-HDLP, branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), ketone bodies, total serum protein, and citrate in at least one biosample of the subject.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a device and method for analyzing a blood sample, particularly including pre-analytical (qualification), analytical and post-analytical (verification) testing. More particularly the disclosure relates in certain embodiments to a device configured for collecting, imaging and lysing blood cells in a sample vessel by means of ultrasonic acoustic waves, generated in the vessel by an acoustic transducer driven at one particular excitation frequency or more particular excitation frequencies, or one range of frequency or ranges of frequencies. In some non-limiting embodiments, the ultrasonic acoustic waves are generated by a single acoustic transducer. Further on, according to certain embodiments, the device and workflow are configured for three analytical steps in single device, comprising pre-analytical (qualification), analytical and post-analytical (verification) testing.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides, inter alia, methods for assessing suitability of a bovine animal as an effective surrogate dam for embryo implantation and maintenance of pregnancy, which methods include obtaining a lipidome profile for a bovine animal, quantifying the ratios of individual lipids, in particular phospholipids, and determining whether the bovine animal exhibits a lipid ratio profile that is predictive of successful embryo implantation and, thereby, assessing the likelihood of a successful in vitro fertilization (IVF) derived embryo implantation, and pregnancy. In further aspects, the present disclosure provides methods for generating a lipidome database. Also provided are compositions and kits for use in those methods to obtain and quantify the lipidome profile of a bovine animal.
