Abstract: A method for analyzing flow matrix data includes: acquiring and sampling a forward-scattered light pulse signal outputted by a flow matrix analyzer and a plurality of fluorescence pulse signals; performing fluorescence compensation on three pieces of fluorescence pulse data after the sampling, and mapping true data of two classification fluorescence pulses to a scatter plot so as to form a two-dimensional array; converting the two-dimensional array into a binary image, and constructing an ellipse gate related to the gathering region; obtaining intrinsic characteristics and movement characteristics of the ellipse gate; and obtaining coordinates of two focuses on the ellipse gate; calculating a distance between each microsphere particle and the two focuses on each ellipse gate; and calculating a median value of true data of calibration fluorescence pulses on all microsphere particles.

Abstract: Disclosed are calibration techniques that can be implemented by a device that conducts biological tests. In certain embodiments, the device for testing a biological specimen includes a receiving mechanism to receive a carrier, a camera module arranged to capture imagery of the carrier, and a processor. Some examples of the processor can detect a calibration mode trigger. In calibration mode, the processor can divide the captured imagery into segments and selectively perform one or more calibration procedures for each segment. Then, the processor records a calibration result for each segment.

Abstract: A cell culture incubator with an incubator cabinet has an internal chamber with a door opening from an external environment. An imager and a manipulator with a scraper are in the internal chamber. A controller is configured for controlling the manipulator to modulate the contact pressure between a scraping edge of the cell scraper and a surface of a cell culture vessel and a sensor is connected to the cell scraper that provides signal to the controller informative of a sensed pressure between a scraping edge of the cell scraper and the surface of a cell culture vessel. The controller controls the manipulator to increase or decrease the pressure between a scraping edge of the cell scraper and the surface of a cell culture vessel.

Abstract: Disclosed are verification techniques that can be implemented by a device that conducts biological tests to verify that the specimen holding area carries a valid biological specimen. In certain embodiments, the testing device includes a receiving mechanism to receive a carrier, and the carrier includes a holding area that is to carry or to be exposed to a biological specimen. The device can also include a camera module arranged to capture imagery of the carrier, and a processor. In some examples, the processor can capture the imagery of the carrier and identify a visual cue on the carrier. Then, the processor can verify, based on a manner of how the visual cue is displayed in the captured imagery, whether the holding area carries a valid biological specimen.

Abstract: For analyzing a sample containing particles of at least two categories, such as a sample containing blood cells, a particle counter subject to a detection limit is coupled with an analyzer capable of discerning particle number ratios, such as a visual analyzer, and a processor. A first category of particles can be present beyond detection range limits while a second category of particles is present within respective detection range limits. The concentration of the second category of particles is determined by the particle counter. A ratio of counts of the first category to the second category is determined on the analyzer. The concentration of particles in the first category is calculated on the processor based on the ratio and the count or concentration of particles in the second category.
