摘要: An integral geogrid includes a plurality of interconnected, oriented strands having an array of openings therein that is produced from a coextruded multilayer polymer sheet starting material. By virtue of the construction, the coextruded multilayer sheet components provide a crystalline synergistic effect during extrusion and orientation of the integral geogrid, resulting in enhanced material properties that provide performance benefits to use of the integral geogrid in soil geosynthetic reinforcement.

摘要: Methods for manufacturing fabric-reinforced weatherstrip include incorporating a fabric application step into a process for making coated substrates. In one embodiment, a strip of the fabric from a roll of material may be applied directly onto a coating after it has been applied in a coat die to a foam profile, while the coating is still in the molten state. Alternatively, a fabric application plate may be attached to an upstream side of coating die with a fabric feed channel cut into the plate. The fabric follows the channel to contact and mate with the foam profile. The fabric applicator plate may be configured so as to exert pressure on only the part of the product where the fabric is being applied. Ultrasonic welding techniques may also be employed.

摘要: A method is disclosed for controlling an additive manufacturing system. The method may include causing a head to discharge composite material along a first trajectory, and activating a cure enhancer to at least partially cure composite material discharging from the head along the first trajectory. The method may also include selectively deactivating the cure enhancer as the head nears a corner location, moving the head to a second trajectory after the head reaches the corner location, and reactivating the cure enhancer after moving the head to the second trajectory.

摘要: A system is disclosed for use in manufacturing a composite structure. The system may include a support configured to move in a plurality of directions during manufacturing of the composite structure, and a head coupled to the support. The head may have a housing that is configured to receive a liquid matrix and at least one continuous fiber and configured to discharge a tubular structure. The head may also have a nozzle operatively connected to the housing and configured to deposit a material layer onto a surface of the tubular structure as the tubular structure is discharging from the housing, and a squeegee associated with the nozzle and configured to wipe over the material layer. The head may further have a first cure enhancer operatively connected to the housing and configured to cure the liquid matrix in the tubular structure during discharge, and a second cure enhancer configured to cure the material layer deposited by the nozzle.

摘要: A film having first and second segments alternating across the film's width direction. The second segments are more elastic than the first segments. The first segments absorb light at a selected wavelength to a greater extent than the second segments. At least some of the first segments have apertures through their thicknesses, and a percentage of area of the first segments occupied by the apertures is greater than a percentage of area occupied by any apertures that may extend through the second segments. Laminates and absorbent articles including such films are also disclosed. A method of making the film is also described. The method includes forming apertures in at least some of the first segments using a laser at the selected wavelength. The first segments have a sufficient absorbance of light at the selected wavelength to form apertures through their thicknesses.

摘要: A color 3D printer and its method of use are disclosed. The color 3D printer uses a number of chambers to dye a filament to a given color. This colored filament is then extruded, pursuant to an associated 3D model of an object, to produce varying colored physical objects, on demand, with the use of a single filament and a single print head. Further, the color 3D printer features a waste management apparatus which provides a number of ways to dispose of waste fluid.
