Abstract: According to an aspect of the invention there is provided a mouldable material carrier for use in producing an impression of a surgical site comprising: a base having a channel passing through the base between an inlet and an outlet; and a securing portion configured to secure a flexible sheet to the base around the outlet to cover the outlet such that, when mouldable material is urged through the inlet, the mouldable material is extruded out of the outlet and contained within a volume defined by the flexible sheet and the base, such that when the mouldable material carrier is urged against a surgical site, the mouldable material within the volume forms an impression of the surgical site without making contact with the surgical site.

Abstract: An injection molding apparatus and method of fabricating a molded part are provided. The apparatus may include a barrel, a nozzle enclosing an end of the barrel and defining an opening in fluid communication with an inside of the barrel, and an extrusion screw positioned at least partially inside the barrel and rotatable relative to the barrel. The extrusion screw may include a screw tip. Relative axial movement between the barrel and the extrusion screw may open or close the opening of the nozzle to permit or prevent, respectively, material flow through the opening of the nozzle. The method may include clamping a mold, opening a nozzle, rotating the extrusion screw to pump a molten material into the mold until the mold is filled, closing the nozzle, and unclamping the mold to release a molded part.

Abstract: Systems and methods of electrostatically spraying a treatment solution are disclosed that include electrostatically charging, by a cartridge assembled with a handheld portable electrostatic device, a treatment solution. The handheld portable electrostatic device can include a housing, the cartridge removably disposed in the housing. The cartridge can include a cartridge housing, at least one electrode to electrostatically charge and ionize molecules of the treatment solution of the cartridge, and a nozzle positioned at a distal end of the cartridge housing, the nozzle of the cartridge being configured to deliver the electrostatically charged treatment solution and configured to be in fluid communication with an air supply tube in fluid communication with a pump in the housing.

Abstract: An applicator is disclosed for applying a treatment solution to a treatment site of a patient. The applicator can include an applicator housing comprising a treatment solution reservoir. A cartridge can be removably disposed in the housing. The cartridge when arranged in the housing can be in fluid communication with the treatment solution reservoir. Abstract: A moulding installation and method for moulding food products from a pumpable foodstuff mass are described. A revolving mould drum is provided with multiple mould cavities and a mass feed member is arranged at a fill position to transfer foodstuff mass into passing mould cavities. The foodstuff mass forms a food product in the mould cavity. A pressurized air food product ejection system includes air ducts in the mould drum that extend to the cavities and at least a portion of the surface delimiting a mould cavity is air permeable. The ejection system further includes a pressurized air source to feed pressurized air at a regulated ejection air pressure thereof to the air ducts. A controller is adapted to input at least one target parameter related to filling of the mould cavities with the foodstuff mass via the mouth of the mass feed member. The controller is adapted to automatically set an ejection air pressure by the pressurized air source on the basis of the inputted target parameter.

Abstract: A dosage device for extruding a monocomponent or a bicomponent polymeric product, particularly for an automatic machine for forming a spacer frame, includes a first dosage assembly and a separate second dosage assembly for the dosage and feeding of the product, which can be activated, in a first feeding step and in a third feeding step, alternately so that one of them provides continuity of flow to an extrusion nozzle while the other one is in the reloading step. The first and second dosage assemblies are activated, in a second swapping step that is intermediate with respect to the first and third feeding steps, simultaneously and jointly, one of them having a flow-rate ramp that passes from the steady-state value to zero and the other one complementarily having a flow-rate ramp that passes from zero to the steady-state value.
