摘要: According to an aspect of the invention there is provided a mouldable material carrier for use in producing an impression of a surgical site comprising: a base having a channel passing through the base between an inlet and an outlet; and a securing portion configured to secure a flexible sheet to the base around the outlet to cover the outlet such that, when mouldable material is urged through the inlet, the mouldable material is extruded out of the outlet and contained within a volume defined by the flexible sheet and the base, such that when the mouldable material carrier is urged against a surgical site, the mouldable material within the volume forms an impression of the surgical site without making contact with the surgical site.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a shoe component may include injecting a material into a mold cavity to create a thin sheet of molded material formed as a single piece with molded holes extending through the molded material and formed as part of the injection molding process. The thin sheet of molded material may be in a shape that can be secured together to form a shoe upper including a vamp, a medial portion, and a lateral portion. The method may include removing, from the mold cavity, the sheet of molded material, folding the sheet of molded material, optionally cementing a first portion of the sheet of molded material to a second portion of the sheet of molded material, and cementing a third portion of the sheet of molded material to a sole to form a shoe. The completed shoe may also include an insole, a tongue, and laces.

Methods of molding wind turbine blades using a modular molding assembly or system and methods of substituting molds are provided. In some embodiments, a modular assembly includes a first base frame and a second base frame hingedly coupled to one another, a first tooling frame disposed on the first base frame, a second tooling frame disposed on the second base frame, a first shell mold coupled to the first tooling frame, and a second shell mold coupled to the second tooling frame. The first shell mold has a first mold surface and a first perimeter and the second shell mold has a second mold surface and a second perimeter. When in an open configuration, the first base frame is coplanar with the second base frame, and, in a closed configuration, the first perimeter contacts the second perimeter.

摘要: A device and method for preparing a locally heterogeneous smart composite material based on time-frequency regulated SAWs are provided. The method includes: mixing functional particles, a photosensitive liquid and a photoinitiator evenly; inputting periodic time-frequency regulated sinusoidal signals defined by a frequency, a duration, an interval time and a time difference to a pair of slanted-finger interdigital transducers, such that the pair of slanted-finger interdigital transducers are excited to produce corresponding standing SAWs; coupling and allowing the standing SAWs to enter a liquid tank to form a local sound field in the photosensitive liquid; forming, by the functional particles in the photosensitive liquid, a stable array distribution under the action of an acoustic radiation force of the local sound field; and turning on an UV light source for curing, thereby completing the preparation.

The binding seam is situated in a connection region of the extruded part; and—the extruded part has at least one fiber grid, which is situated in the connection region of the extruded part and is connected to the extruded part such that the fiber grid bridges the two material inner edges. The extruded part may be a part of a battery housing for a traction battery.

摘要: In general, in various embodiments, the present disclosure is directed systems and methods for producing a porous surface from a solid piece of polymer. In particular, the present disclosure is directed to a mold for processing a material. The mold includes a body having a top surface and a bottom surface. A void within the body is configured to receive a porogen and a piece of thermoplastic material. The void extends in a top to bottom direction to form a non-through cavity with a cavity surface that is substantially parallel to the bottom surface of the body. A protrusion on the body extends from the cavity surface towards the top surface. The void extends at least halfway through the body towards the bottom surface. A peg is disposed on the body and shaped to matingly engage a weight via a hole within the weight.
