Abstract: Physical foaming a footwear component with a single-phase solution of a polymeric composition and a supercritical fluid is provided. The method include temperature conditioning a mold and then engaging the mold with a robot that conveys the mold to a press. At the press a gas counter pressure is applied to a cavity of the mold before injecting a single-phase solution of a polymeric composition and a supercritical fluid into the cavity of the mold. The process continues with releasing the gas counter pressure from the cavity of the mold and then removing the footwear component from the cavity of the mold. The parameters of the method are configured for the formation of the footwear component in an automated manner.

Abstract: A mold for injection molding includes a design-surface-side mold which is capable of forming a design surface of a resin molded product and a non-design-surface-side mold which is capable of forming a mold cavity with the design-surface-side mold. A convex portion is provided in any one of the design-surface-side mold and the non-design-surface-side mold so as to protrude toward the other one. The mold for injection molding is configured to be capable of switching a first mold closing state in which the convex portion is present from any one of the design-surface-side mold and the non-design-surface-side mold over the other one and a second mold closing state in which the convex portion is not present from any one of the design-surface-side mold and the non-design-surface-side mold over the other one.

Abstract: A mold for molding an expanded resin, wherein a silicone rubber layer (40) having a JIS-A hardness of 20 to 70 is formed as a heat-insulating layer at least on a part or the whole of the inner wall surface that forms a cavity (20) of a mold main body (10) which is for use in molding an expanded resin and which is made of an aluminum material. This mold for molding an expanded resin is effectively usable in molding expanded polystyrene or the like by a bead molding method, and can produce a molded product of an expanded resin with high thermal efficiency by virtue of high heat insulation performance. Further, the mold can be easily produced with good execution efficiency.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of mould-foamed poly(meth)acrylimide (P(M)I) cores, in particular of polymethacrylimide (PMI) cores, which can be used by way of example in automobile construction or aircraft construction. A feature of this process is that polymer granules or polymer powder are charged to a compression mould where they are foamed. A particular feature of the process is that said two-shell compression mould has, respectively on both sides, a cavity that conforms to the shape and which serves for both the heating and the cooling of the granules and, respectively, of the rigid foam core produced therefrom.
