Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for quickly removing and installing a filament tube and nozzle in an FFF extrusion system. The system utilizes a primary manifold that includes a cooling block, a heating block and a quick-change mechanism. This primary manifold is adapted to mate a filament tube/nozzle assembly. The quick-change mechanism, which in a particular embodiment utilizes a recessed biased-bearing arrangement, enables the filament/nozzle assembly to be removed and inserted without the use of any tools, and without causing any significant downtime for the FFF extrusion system. Once removed, the filament tube/nozzle assembly can be refurbished by a technician, trained so as not to over torque the tube/nozzle threaded interface. This refurbishment (typically consisting of a cleaning and the installation of a new nozzle) could be accomplished “off-line”, without any impact on the continued use of FFF extrusion system.

The filter residue (9) can be removed from the filter (5, 6) via a backflushing process or in a mechanical manner using a scraper or the like.

Abstract: A skinned panel for stably molding a thin skin material and a molding method thereof. An extruding device is configured to extrude a pair of multilayered resin sheets, each of which has a lamination structure of an inner layer made of a foamed resin and an outer layer made of a non-foamed resin that is changed into a skin material of a sandwich panel as a skinned panel. The pair of the resin sheets is abutted to the circumferential part of the pair of the split molds for producing sealed spaces. The sealed spaces are sucked for pressing the pair of the resin sheets onto cavities of the pair of the split molds. Accordingly, the pair of the resin sheets is formed in a shape substantially identical to the outline of the sandwich panel.

Abstract: A tube material is formed by continuously extruding a thermoplastic resin material in the shape of a cylinder that has a thickness of 100 μm and a circumferential length of 800 mm. After that, in a polishing process, the tube material is rubbed with a lapping tape of #2000 while being rotated in one direction at a fixed speed, so that circumferential stripes are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the tube material. Then, the circumferential stripes are thermally transferred by pressing the outer circumferential surface of the heated tube material against a mold surface that is finished in the shape of circumferential stripes by a thermal transfer process.

Abstract: A device for extruding plasticized masses and plastic powdered materials includes an extruder, a deformation element with a working channel having coaxially located profiled portions, and a forming die. The surface of each of the profiled portions includes two couples of wave-like surfaces acting in antiphase, symmetric with respect to the working channel axis and smoothly passing one into the other. The maximal increments of the distances from the channel surface to the axis thereof for one couple of these surfaces is located in a plane passing through the axis of the channel. Such maximal increments for the other couple are located in the profiled surface, the generatrices of which profiled surface are orthogonal to the axis of the channel along the entire length of the same and are orthogonal to said plane at the inlet and the outlet of each profiled portion.
