摘要: A medical instrument system includes a control system and an operator input device coupled to an instrument including a sensor. The control system includes a processor and memory comprising instructions that cause the control system to: determine a distance between a distal tip of the instrument and an anatomical area based on sensor data; determine a motion scaling parameter based on the distance; receive an input instruction from the operator input device; map the input instruction to an output instruction including applying the motion scaling parameter to the input instruction to create the output instruction; instruct an actuator to move the instrument based on the output instruction; determine a second distance between the distal tip and the anatomical area based on the sensor data; determine a second motion scaling parameter based on the second distance; and stop movement of the instrument based on the second motion scaling parameter.

摘要: A surgical access assembly and method of use is disclosed. The surgical access assembly comprises an outer sheath and an obturator. The outer sheath and obturator are configured to be delivered to an area of interest within the brain. Either the outer sheath or the obturator may be configured to operate with a navigational system to track the location of either within the brain. Once positioned at a desired location, the obturator is removed, leaving a distal end of the outer sheath adjacent an area of interest, and creating a working corridor. Interrogation of the area of interest may be performed to evaluate a disorder and/or abnormality, as well as evaluate treatment regimes. Interventional devices may also be introduced to the area of interest, as well as a variety of treatments.

摘要: A transperineal adaptor for use with a transperineal biopsy system including an ultrasound probe and biopsy guide. The transperineal adaptor includes a shaft body and a mounting body. The shaft body is configured to releasably couple to the accessory coupling portion of the probe and includes a first length, a first curvate outer surface, and an inner surface. The inner surface is configured to facilitate snapping together of the transperineal adaptor and the ultrasound probe. The mounting body extends from the shaft body and includes a second length, a second curvate surface, a first connector portion at a first end of the second curvate outer surface, and a second connector portion. The first connector portion is configured to couple to the first end of the fastener of the biopsy guide and the second connector portion configured to couple to the second end of the fastener of the biopsy guide.

A method of identifying a bifurcation can include inserting a catheter system into a first vessel, positioning the catheter system at a first location, expanding an expandable member to occlude the first vessel, delivering contrast material so the contrast material pooling proximate to the expandable member, and reviewing a shape of the contrast material in the first vessel under fluoroscopy.

摘要: Systems and methods for virtual reality or augmented reality (VR/AR) visualization of 3D medical images using a VR/AR visualization system are disclosed that includes a computing device operatively coupled to a VR/AR device, which includes a holographic display and at least one sensor. The holographic display is configured to display a holographic image to an operator. The computing device is configured to receive at least one stored 3D image of a subject's anatomy and at least one real-time 3D position of at least one surgical instrument, to register the at least one real-time 3D position of the at least one surgical instrument to correspond to the at least one 3D image of the subject's anatomy, and to generate the holographic image comprising the at least one real-time position of the at least one surgical instrument overlaid on the at least one 3D image of the subject's anatomy.

摘要: Systems, methods, and devices are provided for assisting or performing guided interventional procedures using custom templates. The system uses pre-procedure scans of a patient's anatomy to identify targets and critical structures. A template is then manufactured containing guide elements. During a procedure, the template may be aligned to the patient and instruments passed though the guide elements and into various targets. The template may be aligned using one or more of, for example, a position sensing system or a live imaging modality to register the patient to the template. The system makes optional use of devices designed to immobilize or track an organ during therapy.

摘要: Methods and devices for both imaging and treating uterine fibroid tumors in one real-time system are provided. One minimally invasive method comprises introducing a sheath into a uterus and determining a location of a fibroid using a visualization element within or on the sheath. Upon identification, a portion of the sheath is steered to position at least one treatment needle at the determined location. The needle is then anchored in uterine tissue and the fibroid treated with the needle.
