摘要: Systems, devices and methods are presented for embolic protection. In some embodiments, a device for implantation in a patient's vessel containing a fluid flow is provided which comprises proximal and distal ends, an undeployed, substantially linear state, and a deployed, spring-like (helical) state comprising windings. When the device is deployed, the line segment connecting the proximal and distal ends is approximately perpendicular to the majority of the windings and to the fluid flow. In some embodiments, a delivery device for the monofilament device is provided. The delivery device comprises a needle having a lumen, a sharp distal end, and a pusher slidable within the needle. A method for deploying the monofilament device using the delivery device is provided.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for occluding hollow body structures, such as blood vessels, and for attaching tissue layers together by providing implantable elements on opposite sides of the structure or tissue layers and drawing the implants together to occlude the body structure and/or bring the tissue layers together. The implants are deliverable in a low-profile configuration and self-expand to an enlarged configuration. The implantable elements are delivered by transfixing the body structure, then releasing the implants on opposite sides of the anatomical structure to urge the layers together to effect an occlusion or attachment. The implants are configured to apply oppositely directed forces to opposite surfaces of the tissue layers at alternate, circumferentially spaced locations and may constrain the tissue in a serpentine pattern or in a direct clamping pattern. The implants grip the tissue in a manner that defines a pressure zone about the transfixion aperture that prevents leakage from the aperture. The invention can be used to fasten tissue to non-tissue.

摘要: Systems and methods for the intravascular treatment of clot material within a blood vessel of a human patient are disclosed herein. A method in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, positioning a distal portion of a catheter proximate to the clot material within the blood vessel. The method can further include coupling a pressure source to the catheter via a tubing subsystem including a valve or other fluid control device and, while the valve is closed, activating the pressure source to charge a vacuum. The valve can then be opened to apply the vacuum to the catheter to thereby aspirate at least a portion of the clot material from the blood vessel and into the catheter.

The expandable treatment member is moveable relative to the flow restrictor, and can be retracted into the distal section.

摘要: In some examples, a medical assembly includes a catheter and a delivery-assist tool. The catheter includes an elongated body comprising a proximal body portion and a distal body portion and defining a body inner lumen; and an expandable member located at the distal body portion, the expandable member defining an expandable member inner lumen. The delivery-assist tool includes a support structure configured to extend through the body inner lumen and the expandable member inner lumen of the catheter; and a flexible cover coupled to a distal portion of the support structure, wherein the flexible cover is configured to facilitate compression and retention of the expandable member in a delivery configuration while being advanced through a delivery sheath and while the support structure extends through the body inner lumen and the expandable member inner lumen.

摘要: The present invention introduces a material, i.e. a device, which is insertable into a vein of a outer parts of a sheath, two-sidedly adhesive tubular material with a supporting material and protrusions, either a balong or an inner protective film, and a control cable for the insertion and extraction of the device along the vein. The supporting material may be compressed initially, and after removal of the outer part of the sheath, the supporting material with protrusions will expand towards the vein walls. After removal of the inner part of the sheath and the control cable, the treated vein area can be manually pressed on top of the skin, thus closing the vein through inner and outer adherence of the material. The protrusions may have a barbed shape.
