摘要: A guidewire holding device comprises a sheath including a lumen, a holder disposed at a distal end of the sheath and configured to be switchable between holding a guidewire and releasing the guidewire, a treatment tool inserted in the lumen to perform an intended treatment, and a wire connected to the treatment tool and configured to move the treatment tool between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the treatment tool is contained insider the lumen, and, in the second configuration, the treatment tool is protruded from the distal end of the sheath.

摘要: A device suitable for use in a body lumen and comprises an elongated control member having a distal and a proximal end, and a radially expansible member disposed at or near the distal end and adapted for collection and/or shearing of matter (i.e. thrombus) from a wall of the body lumen (i.e. a vein or an artery). The radially expansible member has a proximal end and a distal end and is adjustable between a contracted orientation and an expanded orientation. The elongated control member comprising a proximal arm connected at or adjacent to the proximal end of the radially expansible member and a distal arm connected at or adjacent to the distal end of the radially expansible member such that movement of one arm relative to the other arm effects adjustment of the diameter or radial strength of the radially expansible member. The device comprises a control mechanism operatively connected to both arms and adapted to provide resistance to the movement of one arm relative to the other. The control mechanism may be a biasing means, a brake means, or both.

摘要: A method and devices for relieving pressure in the left atrium of a patient's heart is disclosed. The method includes using an ablative catheter in a minimally invasive procedure to prepare an opening from the coronary sinus into a left atrium of the patient's heart. Once the opening is prepared, the opening may be enlarged by a technique such as expanding a balloon within the opening. A stent is then placed within the coronary sinus of the patient, with a transverse portion expanding within the opening, allowing blood to flow from the left atrium to the coronary sinus and then to the right atrium. Pressure within the left atrium is thus relieved.

摘要: Devices, systems, and methods for performing thrombectomy procedures are disclosed herein. The devices can include an aspiration catheter which optionally has a beveled distal end. The aspiration catheter is advanced to a position adjacent a thrombus. A blocking element can be expanded near the distal end of the aspiration catheter to block fluid flow during the procedure. The devices can include a thrombus retrieval device supporting a braided assembly that grips and facilitates removal of the thrombus. The braided assembly is expandable to a range of expanded outer diameters by varying the level of tension in an activation wire attached thereto. An expander can be deployed beneath the braided assembly to exert an outward expansion force upon the braid, thereby increasing the grip between the braided assembly and the thrombus. The braided assembly contacts the thrombus and the retrieval device pulls it proximally toward the aspiration catheter.

摘要: Systems and methods for the intravascular treatment of clot material within a blood vessel of a human patient are disclosed herein. A method in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, engaging an interventional device of a catheter system with clot material in a blood vessel and withdrawing the interventional device and the portion of the clot material through a guide catheter. In some embodiments, the catheter system can include an attachment/valve member coupled to a proximal portion of the guide catheter, and the method can include unsealing the attachment/valve member to facilitate withdrawing the interventional device through the attachment/valve member without significant retention of clot material within the attachment/valve member. The method can further include resealing and aspirating the guide catheter before advancing another interventional device to the clot material to again engage and remove clot material from the blood vessel.

摘要: A method is disclosed for removing a vascular occlusion, such as a clot, from a blood vessel. A tubular sheath is inserted into the vessel and a self-expanding Nitinol mesh filter is deployed from a distal end of the tubular sheath at a location proximal to a clot. An inner catheter is advanced through the tubular sheath and through the mesh filter for contacting the clot. An expandable agitation element is provided along a distal end portion of the inner catheter for cutting or chopping the clot, thereby facilitating removal of the clot and improving blood flow through the vessel. Resulting clot particles are captured by the mesh filter. Negative pressure may be applied along a proximal end portion of the sheath for aspirating remaining particles. Certain embodiments of the method are well-suited for treating deep vein thrombosis and do not require the use of thrombolytic drugs.

摘要: Disclosed are systems, methods, and devices for percutaneous retrieval of objects, such as endovascular devices, from an internal body space. The present inventions have vascular, non-vascular (gastrointestinal), and surgical (laproscopic) applications. The inventions include a a wire woven distal end that is formed from wires and includes a substantially cylindrical main body section comprising a leading end, a trailing end, and a middle portion extending between the leading end and the trailing end and defining a longitudinal axis of the main body section, and a flare defining a mouth of the wire woven distal end that projects circumferentially from the leading end of the main body section, wherein when at least a portion of the retrieval end is transitioned to a compressed state following capture of an object, the retrieval end exerts an inward force that at least partially collapses or compresses the object.

摘要: Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by electrically enhancing attachment of the material to a medical device. The device can include an elongate core member having a distal portion configured to be intravascularly positioned at a treatment site within a blood vessel lumen, and an interventional element connected to the distal portion of the elongate core member. The interventional element includes a body that is expandable from a first configuration to a second configuration and an electrically conductive radiopaque marker coupled to the body. An electrically conductive lead has a distal portion electrically coupled to the radiopaque marker and a proximal portion configured to be electrically coupled to a current source.
