摘要: Described herein are improved systems and methods for cellular ionic activity visualization. Specifically, for example, the systems and methods can observe and characterize biological ionic channel activity and subsequently detect, measure or manipulate a biological sample in the field of biological or medical sciences on the cellular level. Such a capability can be implemented across any type of biological cell which possesses ionic channels on the surface or contained within.

摘要: An intubation device assembly includes an intubation device, an optical imaging device attached to the intubation device, an image display device attached to the intubation device, a first position sensor operatively connected to the image display device, a second position sensor operatively connected to the intubation device, and a force sensor operatively connected to the intubation device. A controller operates the image display device to display a video image of the optical imaging device and at least one parameter corresponding to an operation of at least one of the optical imaging device, the first position sensor, the second position sensor, and the force sensor. The controller further determines an orientation of a screen of the image display device according to an operation of the first position sensor. The controller displays the least one parameter in a position on the screen according to the orientation of the screen.

摘要: An imaging catheter apparatus can include an elongate shaft assembly having a proximal shaft portion and a distal shaft portion. The shaft assembly can be configured to carry an imaging transducer such that the imaging transducer is locatable at or near a distal portion of the elongate shaft assembly. At least one coupler can be attached to the elongate shaft assembly. The at least one coupler configured to permit an end user to at least one of couple or attach at least one of a guidewire or an interventional medical device to the elongate shaft assembly via the at least one coupler. For example, the at least one coupler can include an elastic sleeve. The elastic sleeve can expand to accommodate passage of a guidewire or interventional medical device therethrough. Then, the elastic sleeve can relax or shrink to grip the interventional medical device, such as to secure or stabilize its position with respect to the imaging catheter, such as for performing a medical procedure.

摘要: An esophageal monitoring device includes a camera and, optionally, one or more lights to enable visualization of an interior of a subject's esophagus. Visualization of the interior of the subject's esophagus before and after a left atrial ablation procedure may enable a healthcare provider to determine whether or not the left atrial ablation procedure has damaged the subject's esophagus before the subject experiences any symptoms of such damage. An esophageal monitoring device may also include sensors and/or markers that enable a determination of its location within a subject's esophagus. Such an esophageal monitoring device may be configured for three-dimensional mapping, and enable the generation of an accurate three-dimensional map of the physical relationship between a subject's esophagus and the left atrium of his or her heart. Methods of monitoring a subject's esophagus while a left atrial ablation procedure is being conducted on the subject's hear are also disclosed.

摘要: A surgical system includes at least one light emitter generating light at a first intensity and an array of light sensors including a least one row of light sensors, individual light sensors in the row of light sensors adapted to generate a signal including a non-pulsatile component. The system also includes a controller coupled to the array of light sensors, the controller including an analyzer to determine the magnitudes of the non-pulsatile components at the individual light sensors in the row of light sensors, to determine if the non-pulsatile component transitions from a higher magnitude to a lower magnitude and from a lower magnitude to a higher magnitude, and if so, to determine if the first intensity should be changed to a second intensity.

摘要: A surgical access assembly and method of use is disclosed. The surgical access assembly comprises an outer sheath and an obturator. The outer sheath and obturator are configured to be delivered to an area of interest within the brain. Either the outer sheath or the obturator may be configured to operate with a navigational system to track the location of either within the brain. Once positioned at a desired location, the obturator is removed, leaving a distal end of the outer sheath adjacent an area of interest, and creating a working corridor. Interrogation of the area of interest may be performed to evaluate a disorder and/or abnormality, as well as evaluate treatment regimes. Interventional devices may also be introduced to the area of interest, as well as a variety of treatments.

摘要: An intravascular data analysis system to assess a blood vessel includes: an interface system configured to receive intravascular pressure data including a plurality of distal pressure (Pd) values measured by an intravascular data collection probe and a plurality of proximal pressure (Pa) values; a display system; one or more memory storage devices includes instructions; and a processor in communication with the interface system, the display system, and the one or more memory storage devices. The processor is configured to execute the instructions to: determine a plurality of Pd/Pa ratios based on the plurality of distal pressure (Pd) values and the plurality of proximal pressure (Pa) values, filter the plurality of Pd/Pa ratios using a filter having a time constant TC in a range of 1% to 50% of a heart cycle length, and control the display system to generate a plot based on the plurality of Pd/Pa ratios.
