摘要: A radiopaque embolic liquid may include two oppositely charged polyelectrolytes and a chaotropic salt in aqueous solution. Once delivered to a location containing a flow of lower osmolality medium, the polyelectrolytes can quickly undergo complex coacervation, precipitate as a hydrogel and can act as an embolic material. The resulting material is radiopaque i.e., visible in CT scan or radiographic imaging.

摘要: A valve assembly for a medical device that includes a piston configured to move relative to an enclosure of the medical device, the enclosure including a first region in fluid communication with an agent, and a second region in fluid communication with a source of fluid. The piston includes a chamber disposed on a sidewall of the piston which is configured to receive the agent. The piston is configured to move to a first position where the chamber is in fluid communication with the first region and not in fluid communication with the second region such that the agent is received within the chamber, and further configured to move to a second position where the chamber is in fluid communication with the second region and not in fluid communication with the first region, such that the agent within the chamber is mixed with the fluid received in the second region.

摘要: Assist device (10) for sclerosing treatment of varicose veins, aimed at being partially inserted into a blood vessel (20), including a tubular element (11), which has at least three ways (13, 14, 15), at least two of which (13, 14) are connected to at least one related inflatable balloon element (12, 12′, 16) by at least one through hole (30, 31), and at least one remaining way (15) of said three ways (13, 14, 15) has at least one hole (32) for the passage of a sclerosing substance (17), aimed at reaching a wall (18) of said blood vessel (20), in which at least one (16) of said at least two balloon elements (12, 12′, 16) has an elongated shape extending toward at least another balloon element (12, 12′) and a volume comprised in the range of 30% to 99% of the space inside said blood vessel.
