Abstract: A vaginal device is described. A conformable vaginal insert is shaped for insertion into a vaginal cavity of a female human. A contact point is configured to change a shape of the insert. A sensor is configured to measure and to relay characteristics of the vaginal cavity and the surrounding and supportive structures of the vaginal cavity. A processor is configured to control the contact point to adjust the shape of the insert, generate a treatment for the vaginal cavity and the surrounding structures of the vaginal cavity and the supportive structures of the vaginal cavity comprising a vaginal cavity profile generated from the measured characteristics, store the measured characteristics and the vaginal cavity profile, and based on the stored measured characteristics and the stored vaginal cavity profile, automatically modify the shape of the insert by control of the contact point to provide the treatment to the vaginal cavity.

Abstract: Example systems and techniques for denervation, for example, renal denervation. In some examples, a processor determines one or more tissue characteristics of tissue proximate a target nerve and a blood vessel. The processor may generate, based on the one or more tissue characteristics, an estimated volume of influence of denervation therapy delivered by a therapy delivery device disposed within the blood vessel. The processor may generate a graphical user interface including a graphical representation of the tissue proximate the target nerve and the blood vessel and a graphical representation of the estimated volume of influence.

Abstract: Neuromodulation catheter systems with controlled irrigation capabilities and methods for using such systems are disclosed herein. One such method includes, for example, positioning an irrigated neuromodulation catheter at a treatment site within a renal blood vessel of a human patient, delivering neuromodulation energy at the treatment site, and delivering irrigation fluid to the treatment site having characteristics coordinated with the delivered energy. The characteristics can be adjusted to maintain an energy delivery element and/or tissue of the blood vessel at a constant temperature as power is increased. The method can further include monitoring at least one parameter of the tissue and/or of the energy delivery element, and adjusting the neuromodulation energy and/or the characteristics of the irrigation fluid if the at least one parameter falls outside of a treatment range of values.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a chemical ablation apparatus for treating arrhythmia. The apparatus includes a clamp body, a clamp head consisting of a pair of clamp jaws, a needle head assembly, a needle head extension and retraction control assembly, pipeline components, and an electrocardiographic mapping component. The chemical ablation apparatus can control needle heads to extend out of or retract into the clamp head by means of the needle head extension and retraction control assembly. A chemical ablation reagent may be injected to a cardiac muscle tissue to conveniently achieve complete ablation of the cardiac muscle tissue by applying a chemical ablation method. The ablation effect can be verified by an electrocardiographic mapping system, to increase the success rate and lower the difficulty level of arrhythmia ablation operations, while also reducing the manufacturing cost of ablation apparatus and corollary equipment thereof, and decreasing expenses for atrial fibrillation surgical operations.

Abstract: A device comprising a heat-generating component that comprises an alkali metal is provided. The alkali metal in the presence of water at a point of contact of the device undergoes an exothermic reaction to generate heat in situ. The amount of heat generated is proportional to and/or limited by the amount (or moles) of water at the point of contact, and the heat generated is sufficient to achieve an increase in temperature at the point of contact to achieve a therapeutic or beneficial result. In one embodiment, the device is used for reducing sweat production in a subject suffering from excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis. In other embodiments, the device is used to substantially sterilize a surface or render a surface substantially aseptic.
