摘要: A tissue expander is disclosed herein. The tissue expander may comprise a shell defining a chamber, and having a flexible wall and a port disposed through the flexible wall. The shell may also include a channel disposed through the flexible wall. A first syringe containing a first volume of a liquid may be connected to the chamber of the tissue expander via the channel. A second syringe containing a second volume of the liquid may be connected to the chamber via the port at least approximately one week after the first volume of liquid is injected. The first volume of liquid may be injected more quickly than the second volume of liquid.

摘要: A method of changing a bone angle includes creating an osteotomy between a first portion and a second portion of a tibia of a patient; creating a cavity in the tibia by removing bone material along an axis extending in a substantially longitudinal direction from a first point at the tibial plateau to a second point; placing a non-invasively adjustable implant into the cavity, the non-invasively adjustable implant comprising an adjustable actuator having an outer housing and an inner shaft, telescopically disposed in the outer housing, and a driving element configured to be remotely operable to telescopically displace the inner shaft in relation to the outer housing; coupling one of the outer housing or the inner shaft to the first portion of the tibia; coupling the other of the outer housing or the inner shaft to the second portion of the tibia; and remotely operating the driving element to telescopically displace the inner shaft in relation to the outer housing, thus changing an angle between the first portion and second portion of the tibia.

摘要: The present technology relates to systems and methods for removing a thrombus from a blood vessel of a patient. In some embodiments, the present technology is directed to systems including an elongated catheter having a distal portion configured to be positioned within the blood vessel of the patient, a proximal portion configured to be external to the patient, and a lumen extending therebetween. The system can also include an imaging element at the distal portion, an illumination source at the distal portion, a capture element at the distal portion and configured to engage the thrombus, a fluid delivery mechanism within the lumen and configured to apply fluid to (1) at least partially fragment the thrombus and (2) provide an optical path for the imaging element, and an aspiration mechanism fluidly coupled to the lumen and configured to aspirate the fragmented thrombus.

摘要: A method for deforming a staple comprising a base, a first staple leg, and a second staple leg, wherein the base, the first staple leg, and the second staple leg are positioned within a common plane prior to being deformed, the method comprising positioning the first staple leg within a first cup of a staple pocket, the first cup comprising a first inner surface, applying a first compressive force to the first staple leg to bend the first staple leg toward the base and the second staple leg, contacting the first inner surface with the end of the first staple leg to bend the end of the first staple leg toward a first side of the base, and deforming the first staple leg such that the end of the first staple leg crosses a mid-line of the staple defined between the first staple leg and the second staple leg.

摘要: An endoscopic bipolar forceps includes an elongated shaft having opposing jaw members at a distal end thereof. The jaw members are movable relative to one another from a first position wherein the jaw members are disposed in spaced relation relative to one another to a second position wherein the jaw members cooperate to grasp tissue therebetween. The jaws members are connected to a source of electrical energy such that the jaw members are capable of conducting energy through tissue held therebetween to effect a tissue seal. At least one non-conductive and spaced-apart stop member is disposed on an inner-facing surface of the jaw members to regulate the gap distance between the jaw members when tissue is held therebetween. The forceps also includes a longitudinally reciprocating knife which severs the tissue after sealing at a location which is proximate the sealing site.
