Abstract: A stent delivery system including an elongate shaft of a medical device, a stent selectively coupled to a distal portion of the elongate shaft, and a coupling mechanism for selectively coupling the stent to the elongate shaft by inserting a tab on one of the stent or the elongate shaft into an opening in the other of the stent or the elongate shaft. The tab may be deflected from a first position to a second position to disengage the tab from the opening.

Abstract: A cannula includes a first segment configured to reside entirely within a vessel. The first segment includes a proximal exit opening disposed nearer to the heart, and multiple fenestrations disposed distally away from the proximal exit opening near a cannulation site. The fenestrations in combination with the proximal exit opening enable simultaneous perfusion of blood into the cannulated vessel along proximal and distal directions. During a medical procedure, blood introduced into a vessel (e.g., the femoral artery) by way of the cannula can exit the cannula in a manner that provides concurrent blood flow in a first set of directions proximally towards the heart and a second set of directions distally away from the heart. Radially displaceable anchoring elements positionable adjacent to the vessel's superficial wall aid retention of the first segment in the vessel. The fenestrations and/or anchoring elements can be arranged obliquely around portions of the cannula's circumference.

Abstract: A device for providing access to a nodule, lesion, or pathological area in a lung or other body organ or lumen. The device includes a sheath portion having a proximal end and a distal end and a plurality of stabilization wires. The sheath portion includes a primary lumen that extends from the proximal end to the distal end and a plurality of secondary lumens that extend from the proximal end to the distal end. The stabilization wires are configured to be slidably received within the secondary lumens. The length of the stabilization wires is greater than the length of the secondary lumens.

Abstract: A balloon catheter having an elongated catheter shaft defining a fluid drainage lumen and a balloon inflation lumen. The balloon catheter includes a fluid drainage port disposed about the distal end of the catheter shaft in fluid communication with the fluid drainage lumen, and a balloon inflation port disposed about the distal end of the catheter shaft in fluid communication with the balloon inflation lumen. A balloon portion is disposed about the distal end of the catheter shaft in fluid communication with the balloon inflation port. A release device is disposed in fluid communication with the balloon portion and the fluid drainage lumen, and includes an activating member. A tether is attached to the activating member of the release device. Tension applied to the tether activates the release device, enabling fluid flow from the balloon portion into the fluid drainage lumen and out of the body.

Abstract: A temporary low profile intraluminal catheter for infusing agents into, or extracting fluids from, a bodily lumen featuring securement structure, wherein the securement structure allows the catheter to be placed with minimal intrusion into the bodily lumen is disclosed. With such design affording a more efficient, verifiable placement of the catheter with less complication due to infection and biofilm related issues, among other types of complications.

Abstract: Embodiments of medical device centering systems and associated methods thereof are described herein and include an elongate medical device, such as a catheter, and a centering device configured to transition between a retracted configuration and an extended configuration. In the extended configuration the centering device can be configured to prevent a distal tip of the catheter from contacting a wall of the vessel. The centering device can provide a spaced apart relationship, or center the tip within the vessel. In an embodiment, the centering device can distend the vessel to provide a fluid pathway between the catheter tip and the vessel wall. Embodiments described herein can mitigate arterial insufficiency while allowing a catheter to be fluid locked along an entire length of the lumen.

Abstract: Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system include an anchor device that secures a medical instrument (such as a catheter or the like) in place relative to a skin penetration point using subcutaneous anchors. In some implementations, the anchor device can be installed using a technique in which the subcutaneous anchors undergo relatively little or no flexing when being inserted through the skin into the subcutaneous region between the skin and underlying muscle tissue which may be occupied by fatty tissue.

Abstract: Described are methods, systems, devices for facilitation of intraluminal medical procedures within the neurovasculature. A catheter advancement device includes a flexible elongate body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a single lumen extending therebetween. The flexible elongate body has a proximal segment, an intermediate segment, and a tip segment. The proximal segment includes a hypotube coated with a polymer. The intermediate segment includes an unreinforced polymer having a durometer of no more than 72D. The tip segment is formed of a polymer different from the intermediate segment and has a durometer of no more than about 35D and a length of at least 5 cm. The tip segment has a tapered portion that tapers distally from a first outer diameter to a second outer diameter over a length of between 1 and 3 cm.
