摘要: A cable system for providing power to an implantable device implanted in a patient having a pedestal base mountable to a skull of a patient. An internal cable extends from the pedestal base and is electrically connectable to the implantable device. An external cable is connectable to the post of the pedestal base. A locking ring is releasably mountable to the post and is movable from a first configuration to a second configuration, wherein in the first configuration the locking ring locks to the post to secure the external cable to the pedestal base and in the second configuration the locking ring releases from the post to release the external cable from the pedestal base.

摘要: The present invention provides a skull implant-type automatic fluid drain device comprising: a body having a first port to be connected to a catheter, a second port provided opposite the first port, and a flow passage connecting the first port and the second port; a separation member for separating the flow passage into first and second sub-channels; a first valve fixed to the separation member and provided to allow the movement of a fluid that moves from the first port to the second port in the first sub-channel; and a second valve fixed to the separation member and provided to allow the movement of a fluid that moves from the second port to the first port in the second sub-channel, wherein each of the first valve and the second valve has an inflow end portion that is open and a discharge end portion provided in a closed state such that the same is selectively opened at an allowed opening pressure or higher; each of the first valve and the second valve is configured such that the inner flow sectional area decreases along the direction of allowed movement of the fluid passing through each of the inflow end portion and the discharge end portion; and the allowed opening pressures of the first valve and the second valve are set to differ from each other.

摘要: A device that can be placed within or near the cranial vault that fluctuates in size in response to changes in CSF pressure is disclosed. The device diminishes in size when CSF pressures rise and increases in size as CSF pressures diminish. The device has the effect of reducing the flow of CSF occurring in the foramen magnum and provides an alternative to craniovertebral decompression in Chiari I patients. The device may have applications in other neurologic illnesses associated with abnormal CSF flow, such as Idiopathic Syringomyelia, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, and CSF dural leaks.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a catheter apparatus for cranial cavities which exhibits the advantage of a conventional catheter structure in that a medicine and a bodily fluid are transferred along different paths, uniformizes the outer diameter of a catheter to easily use stereotactic equipment, and facilitates tunneling of the rear end of the catheter in a bypass space between the skull and the skin, so as to allow an operation to be simply and easily performed and thus to increase safety in operation. The catheter apparatus is advantageous in that no protrusion is formed on the outer surface of the catheter and thus the end of the catheter may be easily and accurately located in a cerebral ventricle using the stereotactic equipment, the catheter may be easily bent through the bypass space, and the rear end of the catheter may be easily exposed to the outside through a perforated part.
