    Abstract: Catheters with at least two curved portions near their distal ends are provided. The lengths and/or curvatures of the curved portions are selected so that a catheter can be advanced through a brachiocephalic or left subclavian artery (BCA or LSC) to access the ascending or descending aorta (AA or DA), withdrawn therefrom, and simply rotated to access the AA or DA. Hence, the catheters provide access to both the AA and DA through the BCA or LSC without any need to withdraw the catheter from the BCA or LSC, e.g., so a second catheter can be exchanged for it. The catheter can further be advanced through the DA into the abdominal aorta and rotated to access branch arteries including the vessels of the lower extremities. The catheters are usable for flush aortography, arteriography, and intravascular pressure measurements, and can be introduced to the BCA or LSC via radial artery access.

    Abstract: A vascular closure device is configured to seal a puncture in an artery or vein. The vascular closure device includes a deployment assembly having a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, a suture carried by the deployment assembly, and a footplate carried by the deployment assembly and coupled to the suture. The footplate is configured to exit the distal end of the deployment assembly for deployment in the puncture. The vascular closure device includes a retraction assembly coupled to the footplate, the retraction assembly configured to, after deployment of the footplate, retract the footplate in a proximal direction.

    Abstract: A guidewire comprising: a core wire; an elongated member extending along a longitudinal axis and defining: an inner surface defining an inner lumen, a plurality of openings disposed along the elongated member, each opening extending from an outer surface of the elongated member towards the inner surface, a first locking recess extending through the elongated member from the outer surface to the inner surface, a second locking recess extending from the inner surface towards a second location on the outer surface, wherein the first locking recess and the second locking recess defines a locking channel; and a locking element disposed within the locking channel and affixed to the elongated member, the locking element defining an aperture configured to receive the core wire, wherein the locking element is configured to inhibit unintended proximal movement of the core wire along the longitudinal axis relative to the elongated member.
