摘要: An optical connector includes a first sub-assembly that is factory-installed to a first end of an optical fiber and a second sub-assembly that is field-installed to the first end of the optical fiber. The optical fiber and first sub-assembly can be routed through a structure (e.g., a building) prior to installation of the second sub-assembly. The second sub-assembly interlocks with the first sub-assembly to inhibit relative axial movement therebetween. Example first sub-assemblies include a ferrule, a hub, and a strain-relief sleeve that mount to an optical fiber. Example second sub-assemblies include a mounting block; and an outer connector housing forming a plug portion.

摘要: A glucose level control system can access a manufacturer specification that is configured to establish a minimum operating parameter of an associated ambulatory medicament pump. The control system can determine, via a pump monitoring system, a functional state of at least one of a plurality of pump components of the ambulatory medicament pump. The control system can determine, in response to determining the functional state of the at least one of the plurality of pump components, that the ambulatory medicament pump fails to meet the manufacturer specification and automatically generate a replacement alert that is configured to indicate that the ambulatory medicament pump may need to be replaced. The control system can transmit a request to a remote electronic device for a replacement ambulatory medicament pump.

摘要: A dosage control system includes a syringe and a dosage control module. The syringe includes a barrel and a plunger. The plunger includes a plunger seal located within the barrel and the barrel includes an end configured to connect to a needle. The dosage control module measures a first distance between the plunger seal and the end of the barrel, measures at least one second distance between the plunger seal and the end of the barrel, determines whether a predetermined amount of medication has been administered from the syringe based on a difference between the first distance and the at least one second distance, and selectively activates at least one of a visual indication and an audio indication if the predetermined amount of medication has been administered from the syringe.

摘要: Aspects of the present invention provide a method and a remote-controlled guidance system for delivering and applying medicines to a region of the body that may not otherwise be easily accessible (e.g., to the perianal region). The system is designed to enable the user to administer their medicine at a desirable angle they control, while the user is in a relatively comfortable and efficacious position for the treatment. The device can present a safer, more hygienic, and more effective alternative method to self-administer perianal medicines than any option currently available. To this extent, the system can present a discreet, “hands-free” alternative to the current options, or couple to other system, such as a bidet toilet seat system, thereby substantially eliminating any discomfort, ineffectiveness, and/or embarrassment a user might otherwise experience.

摘要: An infusion system for infusing a liquid into a body includes an external infusion device and a remote commander. The external infusion device includes a housing, a receiver, a processor and an indication device. The receiver is coupled to the housing and for receiving remotely generated commands. The processor is coupled to the housing and the receiver to receive remotely generated commands and to control the external infusion device in accordance with the commands. The indication device indicates when a command has been received and indicates when the command is being utilized to control the external infusion device so that the external infusion device is capable of being concealed from view when being remotely commanded. The remote commander includes a commander housing, a keypad for transmitting commands, and a transmitter for transmitting commands to the receiver of the external infusion device.

摘要: A pressure isolation mechanism for use in a medical procedure includes a lumen, an isolation port in fluid connection with lumen, and a valve having a first state and a second state. The first state occurs when the lumen and the isolation port are connected. The second state occurs when the lumen and the isolation port are disconnected. The lumen remains open for flow of fluid therethrough in the first state and in the second state. The valve is normally in the first state and is switchable to the second state when fluid pressure in the lumen reaches a predetermined pressure level. A pressure transducer can be in fluid connection with the isolation port of the pressure isolation mechanism A fluid delivery system includes a manually operated syringe and a pressure isolation mechanism as described above.

摘要: A dose request device for a medicament delivery device can include a housing, a dose request button, a short-range non-contact identifier, a communication interface configured to communicate with the medicament delivery device, and a controller. The short-range non-contact identifier can be configured to be capable of reading an identification code from a tag when the tag is disposed within a first range and not to be able to read the identification code from the tag when the tag is disposed beyond a second range. The controller can be configured and programmed to determine whether the identification code read by the short-range non-contact identifier matches any authorized identification code of a set of one or more authorized identification codes, and if so, and if the dose request button is pressed, the controller can then communicate a dose request to the medicament delivery device via the communication interface.
