    摘要: An extrusion die assembly configured to process a flow of extrusion material traveling in a downstream direction includes a first die component, a second die component and a third die component. The first die component includes a first channel that is substantially coaxial to a longitudinal axis. The second die component is received within a downstream side of the first die component and has a position that is adjustable along the longitudinal axis relative to the first die component. The second die component includes a second channel that is substantially coaxial to the longitudinal axis. The third die component is received within a downstream side of the second die component and has a position that is adjustable along the longitudinal axis relative to the second die component. The third die component includes a third channel that is substantially coaxial to the longitudinal axis. Additional embodiments of the invention include a mandrel positioned adjacent the first die component. The mandrel includes a mandrel channel that is substantially coaxial to the longitudinal axis, a mandrel tip at a downstream end through which the mandrel channel extends, and a mandrel projection extending from the mandrel in the downstream direction beyond the mandrel tip.

    摘要: An apparatus for manufacturing stiffness-taper tubing includes a die having an extrusion hole, a die holder for holding the die, and a mandrel mounted inside the die holder and that fits in the extrusion hole. The apparatus forms stiffness-taper tubing by switching between and supplying resins having different stiffnesses over the mandrel from a plurality of resin-supply ports formed in the die holder such that the stiffness gradually changes in the lengthwise direction. A mandrel insertion hole connecting to the extrusion hole is formed in the die holder and the mandrel is mounted in this mandrel insertion hole. The plurality of resin-supply ports open to a cylindrical space formed between the inner surface of the mandrel insertion hole and the outer surface of the mandrel at a position separated from the extrusion hole in the die, and the plurality of resins flow together in this space.

    摘要: The present invention concerns a process for producting cables, in particular cables for the distribution of electrical energy or cables for telecommunications, more particularly, cables having at least one covering layer comprising a composition of high viscosity. More particularly, the present invention concerns cables having at least one covering layer comprising a polymeric composition comprising a mineral filler capable of imparting one or more specific properties to the aforesaid cables. In accordance with the present invention, said production process comprises the stages of: conveying at least one conducting element inside of an extruder; feeding the polymeric material, optionally premixed with other components of said composition, into said extruder, filtering the material transferred and plasticized by the screw of said extruder; depositing said material onto said at least one conducting element, the filtration operation being performed with a filtration efficiency greater than 0.8, preferably greater than 0.9. The present invention concerns, in addition, an apparatus for the purpose of performing the production process mentioned above.

    摘要: The present invention provides a laminate flexible strip for attachment to a vehicle in the form of a weather sealing strip. The strip includes a core member and a filler layer of elastomeric seal material disposed about and into the voids of the core member. The core member includes a bent wire in an undulating pattern that forms a number of continuously connected longitudinally spaced and laterally extending u-shaped metal clamping clips for reinforcing the seal material and a number of continuous laterally spaced and longitudinally extending linear fibers connected to the clips to maintain the spatial relationship between the bent wire members. While the fibers or laminate maintain the longitudinal spacing of the wires, they also allow the core to flex laterally and compress longitudinally in the finished extrusion. The fibers may be made of the same material as or a material dissimilar to the clips.
