Abstract: A blow molded article obtained by blow molding of a preform made via parallel flow coinjection, having a wall formed by 3 layers in at least a region wherein the outside layer is transparent and the inner layer comprises an effect pigment visible through the transparent layer. Articles according to the invention have an improved gloss, low haze and higher resistance to delamination than previous articles. The invention relates also to preforms for making articles as described and to methods for making preforms and articles.

Abstract: Provided are a flexible tube for an endoscope, the flexible tube having a flexible tube base containing metal as a constituent material, a resin cover layer that covers an outer periphery of the flexible tube base, and a primer layer that includes a specific silane coupling agent and that is disposed between the flexible tube base and the resin cover layer, in which the resin cover layer includes at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyamides, polyesters, polyurethanes, and polyolefins at least on a side of the resin cover layer in contact with the primer layer, an endoscopic medical device including the flexible tube for an endoscope, a method for producing the flexible tube for an endoscope, and a method for producing the endoscopic medical device.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a medical device assembly comprising an expandable medical device wrapped with an improved constraining sleeve. The sleeve in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure is thin walled and translucent, having reduced edge sharpness. The sleeve in accordance with the present disclosure exhibits resistance to ripping and delamination. Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods of making sheet material usable for constraining sleeves from flattened film tubes. Methods for making improved constraining sleeves and medical device assemblies that comprise an improved constraining sleeve are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A vessel for transporting a material that is solid or semi-solid at ambient temperature, includes a body having an interior surface comprising textured metal, and a superoleophobic coating on the interior surface for inhibiting the material from adhering to the interior surface, the superoleophobic coating including a nanotextured coating disposed on the textured metal and functionalized with a fluorinated compound. The superoleophobic coating facilitates flow of the material along the interior surface.

Abstract: A composite intraluminal prosthesis which is preferably used as a vascular prothesis includes a layer of ePTFE and a layer of textile material which are secured together by an elastomeric bonding agent. The ePTFE layer includes a porous microstructure defined by nodes interconnected by fibrils. The adhesive bonding agent is preferably applied in solution so that the bonding agent enters the pores of the microstructure of the ePTFE. This helps secure the textile layer to the ePTFE layer.

Abstract: A core member for a sandwich panel and a method of forming the core member for the sandwich panel which are capable of attaining a desired profile, a desired pattern on their surfaces, and a desired inner structure in accordance with an application of the sandwich panel. There is provided a thermoplastic resin core member interposed between two resin skin sheets comprising a closed hollow portion located to be inside of a desired position in accordance with an application of the sandwiched panel, and it is formed by clamping parison of a molten thermoplastic resin positioned to be between two split molds so as to exhibit a desired profile and/or a surface shape, two surfaces against each of which the molten parison is pressed to form an adhesive surface on which the corresponding resin skin sheet is formed.

Abstract: A component for a semiconductor processing chamber includes a ceramic body having at least one surface with a first average surface roughness of approximately 8-16 micro-inches. The component further includes a conformal protective layer on at least one surface of the ceramic body, wherein the conformal protective layer is a plasma resistant rare earth oxide film having a substantially uniform thickness of less than 300 μm over the at least one surface and having a second average surface roughness of below 10 micro-inches, wherein the second average surface roughness is less than the first average surface roughness.

Abstract: A flexible-to-rigid tube is flexible when routed and is then rigidized to increase burst strength. According to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, the flexible-to-rigid tube is included in a cooling plate assembly for transferring heat from electronic components mounted on a circuit board. In one embodiment, the flexible-to-rigid tube (while in a flexible state) includes a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) or other silicone containing pendant or terminal epoxy, vinyl and/or acrylate functional groups and an initiator (e.g., a sulfonium salt photoinitiator, a free radical photoinitiator, or a thermal initiator). In another embodiment, triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) and an initiator are incorporated into a conventional PVC-based tubing material. The flexible-to-rigid tube changes from the flexible state to a rigid state via formation of a cross-linked network upon exposure to actinic radiation or heat.

Abstract: An extruded PET parison includes a first extruded polymer comprising PET, and a second extruded polymer comprising PET. In embodiments, the first extruded polymer and the second extruded polymer are co-extruded, and the first extruded polymer has an intrinsic viscosity that is higher that the intrinsic viscosity of the second extruded polymer. A monolayer embodiment is also disclosed. In embodiments, a monolayer extruded PET container is comprised of bottle grade PET resin that has been solid stated and may have an IV from about 0.96 to about 1.4.
