摘要: A flexible sensor configured for use in a bladder is flexible and moveable from a first position in which it is configured to not be discharged from the bladder to a second position in which it is configured to be inserted into the bladder. A sensor insertion tool includes an over sheath, a push rod configured to be inserted into a first lumen of the over sheath. The flexible sensor is positioned in the first lumen of the over sheath, the push rod is then inserted partially into the over sheath behind the flexible sensor. The sensor insertion tool is then positioned at a location, such as the opening to the bladder, in which the sensor is to be deployed.

摘要: The present invention provides a shape-memory alloy including a Au—Cu—Al alloy having 20 at % or more and 40 at % or less Cu and 15 at % or more and 30 at % or less Al, with the balance being Au and inevitable impurities. The shape-memory alloy has a Vickers hardness of 360 Hv or less. The Au—Cu—Al alloy of the present invention is an alloy capable of developing both biocompatibility and a shape-memory effect, and further capable of achieving artifactlessness in a magnetic environment. The Au—Cu—Al alloy can be produced by heat-treating a clad material formed of a combination of a hollow material made of a Au—Cu alloy and a core material made of metallic Al at 500° C. or more and 700° C. or less.

摘要: Apparatus and methods are described including an axial shaft configured for insertion into, and rotation within, a subject's body. A delivery tube extends to the axial shaft, from outside the subject's body, while the axial shaft is within the subject's body. An impeller is coupled to the axial shaft such that, as the axial shaft rotates, the impeller pumps blood of the subject. Proximal and distal radial bearings surround the axial shaft, proximally and distally to the impeller respectively, the proximal and distal radial bearings being configured to radially stabilize the axial shaft while the axial shaft rotates. A proximal bearing housing houses the proximal radial bearing and is coupled to the delivery tube. A drive cable rotates the axial shaft while extending through the delivery tube, and is coupled to the axial shaft within the proximal bearing housing. Other applications are also described.

摘要: Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by use of a distal element comprising an expandable mesh. a treatment device includes an elongated member having a proximal portion and a distal portion configured to be positioned within a blood vessel at a treatment site at or near a thrombus. A distal element comprising an expandable mesh is coupled to the distal portion of the elongated member via a connection assembly. In an expanded state, at least a portion of the mesh is configured to be in apposition with the blood vessel wall at the treatment site to anchor or stabilize the elongated member with respect to the blood vessel. The distal element can be electrically coupled to an extracorporeal current generator.

摘要: An elongated medical device includes an elongated tubular element with a series of flexibility enhancing features along a length of the elongated tubular element. Each flexibility enhancing feature may include a circumferential series of cuts. The cuts of one flexibility enhancing feature may be offset relative to the cuts of a longitudinally adjacent flexibility enhancing feature. The flexibility enhancing features may be grouped into two or more interleaved sets, with each set of circumferential cuts being offset relative to the next set of circumferential cuts. Methods for manufacturing such elongated medical devices are also disclosed.

The minimally invasive intervention device in the present application has signal transmission capability and high degree of integration, and when the microcatheter or the micro-guide wire is applied in the minimally invasive intervention apparatus, the functional integration and clinical practicality of the minimally invasive intervention apparatus can be improved, thereby reducing the workload of medical personnel in minimally invasive intervention surgery.

摘要: The invention relates generally to methods and systems for capturing, filtering, or retrieving obstructions or other particulates from a patient's vasculature. In one aspect, device for retrieving an obstruction from a patient is provided that includes an outer delivery shaft and an expandable basket movable between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The basket is configured to be in the collapsed configuration during delivery and in the expanded configuration during engagement and retrieval of the obstruction. A proximal end of the basket is configured to be centrally and pivotally coupled to the outer delivery shaft. The proximal end and/or a distal end of the basket is movable relative to each other such that a proximal portion of the expandable basket is invertible toward a distal portion of the basket to form a proximally oriented cavity in the expanded configuration to engage and retrieve the obstruction.

摘要: Active Energy Facilitated Drug Delivery platform for delivering therapeutics to biological tissue through electrical conductivity. This delivery method is comprised of an elastic alloy to encase a balloon or drug deposition, where the alloy acts to emit an electric field in aiding and actively allowing the pharmaceutical agent to have enhanced permeation, binding and internalization to cells and the biological matrix. A therapeutic agent is deposited onto a balloon to embody the drug deposition, reservoir whereby the electrical field facilitates the active transfer of a pharmaceutical agent to the target tissue is described.
