摘要: This disclosure relates to an improved continuous solution polymerization process wherein production rate is increased. Process solvent, ethylene, optional comonomers, optional hydrogen and a bridged metallocene catalyst formulation are injected into a first reactor to form a first ethylene interpolymer. Optionally, process solvent, ethylene, optional comonomers, optional hydrogen and a bridged metallocene catalyst formulation are injected into a second reactor forming a second ethylene interpolymer. The first and second reactors may be configured in series or parallel modes of operation. Optionally, a third ethylene interpolymer is formed in a third reactor, wherein a homogeneous catalyst formulation or a heterogeneous catalyst formulation is employed. In solution, the first, optional second and optional third ethylene interpolymers are combined, the catalyst is deactivated, the solution is optionally passivated and following a phase separation process an ethylene interpolymer product is recovered.

摘要: A method of forming a finished film comprising extruding a molten polyethylene comprising a diene terpolymer modifier through a die opening to form a film, wherein the diene-terpolymer modifier is a terpolymer comprising ethylene-derived units, C3 to C10 α-olefin derived units, and diene-derived units; causing the film to progress in a direction away from the die opening; cooling the film at a distance from the die opening, the distance adjusted to allow relaxation of the molten polyethylene prior to solidification and/or crystallization upon cooling; and isolating a finished film therefrom. Desirably, the polyethylene is a linear low density polyethylene, and the die and cooling is suitable for forming a blown film.

摘要: A method of forming a blown film comprising extruding a molten composition through a die opening to form a film; wherein the molten composition comprises at least one polyethylene and within the range from 0.10 wt % to 10 wt % of a cyclic-diene terpolymer by weight of the composition; causing the film to progress in a direction away from the die opening; cooling the film at a distance from the die opening, the distance adjusted to effect the properties of the film; and isolating a blown film therefrom.

摘要: Disclosed herein are ethylene-based polymers generally characterized by a density from 0.89 to 0.93 g/cm3, a ratio of Mw/Mn from 3 to 6.5, a Mz from 200,000 to 650,000 g/mol, a CY-a parameter at 190° C. from 0.2 to 0.4, and a reverse short chain branching distribution. The ATREF profile of these polymers can have a high temperature peak from 92 to 102° C., and a low temperature peak from 18 to 36° C. less than that of the high temperature peak. These polymers can have comparable physical properties to that of a metallocene-catalyzed LLDPE, but with improved processability, shear thinning, and melt strength, and can be used in blown film and other end-use applications.

摘要: This disclosure relates to ethylene interpolymer compositions. Specifically, ethylene interpolymer products having: a Dilution Index (Yd) greater than 0; total catalytic metal ≥3.0 ppm; ≥0.03 terminal vinyl unsaturations per 100 carbon atoms, and; optionally a Dimensionless Modulus (Xd) greater than 0. The disclosed ethylene interpolymer products have a melt index from about 0.3 to about 500 dg/minute, a density from about 0.869 to about 0.975 g/cm3, a polydispersity (Mw/Mn) from about 2 to about 25 and a CDBI50 from about 20% to about 97%. Further, the ethylene interpolymer products are a blend of at least two ethylene interpolymers; where one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a single-site catalyst formulation and at least one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a heterogeneous catalyst formulation.

摘要: This disclosure relates to caps and closures manufactured from an ethylene interpolymer product, or a blend containing an ethylene interpolymer product, where the ethylene interpolymer product has: a Dilution Index (Yd) greater than 0; total catalytic metal ≥3.0 ppm; ≥0.03 terminal vinyl unsaturations per 100 carbon atoms, and; optionally a Dimensionless Modulus (Xd) greater than 0. The ethylene interpolymer products have a melt index from about 0.4 to about 20 dg/minute, a density from about 0.948 to about 0.968 g/cm3, a polydispersity (Mw/Mn) from about 2 to about 25 and a CDBI50 from about 54% to about 98%. Further, the ethylene interpolymer products are a blend of at least two ethylene interpolymers; where one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a single-site catalyst formulation and at least one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a heterogeneous catalyst formulation.

摘要: A low density polyethylene composition characterized by having a density in range of 0.91 to 0.94 gm/cm3, a melt index in the range of 1 to 5 g/10 minutes, a gel permeation chromatography branching index in the range of 1.2 to 1, a polydispersity index in the range of 3.5 to 7.5, a viscosity ratio in the range of 0.7 to 1, and a long chain branching frequency greater than zero at a log molecular weight (log(MW)) value in the range of 4 to 5.5. Film formed from the polyethylene compositions with favorable haze and gloss characteristics, and a process for forming such film, are also described.

摘要: This disclosure relates to films comprising at least one layer of an ethylene interpolymer product. The ethylene interpolymer product comprises a first ethylene interpolymer, a second ethylene interpolymer and optionally a third ethylene interpolymer; wherein the ethylene interpolymer product has ≥0.03 terminal vinyl unsaturations per 100 carbon atoms and ≥3 parts per million (ppm) of a total catalytic metal; and optionally a Dilution Index, Yd, greater than 0. The disclosed ethylene interpolymer products have a melt index from about 0.4 to about 10 dg/minute, a density from about 0.900 to about 0.940 g/cm3, a polydispersity (Mw/Mn) from about 2 to about 12 and a CDBI50 from about 20% to about 98%. Further, the ethylene interpolymer products are a blend of at least two ethylene interpolymers; where one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a single-site catalyst formulation and at least one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a heterogeneous catalyst formulation.
