摘要: A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) includes an internal combustion engine, a motor/generator configured to drive the internal combustion engine or be driven by the internal combustion engine to generate electricity to charge a high voltage battery and/or drive one or more electric traction motors, and an exhaust aftertreatment system having a gasoline particulate filter (GPF). A control system includes a controller for monitoring and performing a regeneration operation of the GPF. The controller is programmed to determine the GPF needs to be regenerated, and operate the internal combustion engine in fuel shut-off to generate a flow of air to the GPF to initiate a GPF regeneration.

摘要: A controller for controlling regeneration in an aftertreatment system comprising a first leg and a second leg is configured to: determine whether regeneration is permitted by the engine based on engine operating parameters; in response to regeneration being permitted, determine whether regeneration is required in at least one of the first leg or the second leg based on operating parameters of the first leg and the second leg, and whether regeneration is inhibited in either the first leg or the second leg; and in response to determining that (i) regeneration is required in at least one of the first or second leg, and (ii) regeneration is not inhibited in either the first or the second leg, cause insertion of hydrocarbons into the engine to thereby increase the temperature of the exhaust gas to a target temperature and cause regeneration in each of the first and second leg.

摘要: An embodiment of an exhaust handling system for a marine vessel includes a cap connected to a top end portion of an exhaust stack of the marine vessel to form an enclosure at least partially surrounding an outlet of an exhaust pipe extending through the exhaust stack. In addition, the exhaust handling system includes a collection pipe in fluid communication with the cap such that the collection pipe is to receive exhaust from the enclosure, and a coupling connected to the collection pipe that is to connect to an exhaust cleaning assembly. The exhaust cleaning system includes a tank to receive the exhaust. The cap at least partially defines a first flow path for the exhaust that extends from the enclosure to the atmosphere. The collection pipe at least partially defines a second flow path for the exhaust that extends from the enclosure to the coupling via the collection pipe.

In one example, a method includes: obtaining at least one input, wherein the at least one input includes a setpoint, a mass flow rate, an inlet temperature, or a combination thereof; calculating a temperature associated with the heater based on a predefined model and the at least one input; and setting a value of the at least one temperature along the fluid flow path to the temperature of the heater.

The system may comprise: an internal combustion engine having an intake passage and an exhaust passage; a turbocharger fluidly connected to the internal combustion engine, the turbocharger including a compressor and a turbine, the compressor being in fluid communication with the intake passage, and the turbine being in fluid communication with the exhaust passage; a reductant injector situated downstream of the turbocharger, wherein the reductant injector is closely coupled to the turbocharger such that a reductant is injected into an exhaust flow of the turbocharger; a first container downstream of the reductant injector, the first container including a multi-functional catalyst (MFC); and a second container downstream of the first container, the second container including a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) component and an Ammonia catalyst (AMOx) component.

The negative-pressure mechanism is configured to pressurize a portion of the exhaust passage upstream of the filter to a negative pressure less than an atmospheric pressure. The first opening and closing mechanism includes an opening disposed in the exhaust passage, and a valve configured to selectively open and close the opening. The valve is configured to, when the exhaust passage becomes negatively pressurized by the negative-pressure mechanism, open the opening.

摘要: Vehicle exhaust system uses delta pressure based estimation of accumulated soot within a diesel particulate filter. The exhaust system has a diesel oxidation catalyst and a diesel particulate filter. A fuel injector is connected upstream from the diesel oxidation catalyst and the diesel particulate filter. A delta pressure sensor measures difference in pressure at inlet and outlet of the diesel particulate filter. A controller determines when to regenerate the diesel particulate filter based on an estimated amount of soot. The controller, in a first regeneration mode, causes the fuel injector to inject fuel at a first rate into the exhaust stream, and to re-evaluate amount of soot accumulated within the diesel particulate filter under increased volumetric flow. The controller, in a second regeneration mode, causes the fuel injector to inject fuel at a second rate into the exhaust stream in order to combust soot trapped in the diesel particulate filter.
