The first sorbent and the second sorbent are proximate to a tailpipe of the exhaust line. A method of treating an exhaust emission from an internal combustion engine during an engine cold-start is also described.

The catalyst article for treating exhaust gas from compressed natural gas (CNG) engine comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end with an axial length L; a first catalytic region beginning at the outlet end and extending for less than the axial length L, wherein the first catalytic region comprises a first zeolite; and a second catalytic region beginning at the inlet end, wherein the second catalytic region comprises a second platinum group metal (PGM) component, a second oxygen storage capacity (OSC) material, and a second inorganic oxide; wherein the second PGM component is selected from the group consisting of palladium, platinum, rhodium or a combination thereof.

摘要: A system includes a controller having at least one processor coupled to a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the controller to: receive data indicative of operating conditions of at least one of an engine or of an aftertreatment system; determine, during a first period of time, that an amount of NOx output from the aftertreatment system satisfies a low NOx operating mode condition based on the data indicative of operating conditions; determine, during a second period of time, that operating conditions for a conversion efficiency are present based on the data indicative of the operating conditions of the aftertreatment system; determine that the amount of NOx output from the aftertreatment system satisfies a high NOx operating mode condition; and selectively set an alert based on a retrieved minimum value and a retrieved maximum value of the amount of NOx outputs.

摘要: Disclosed is an exhaust gas purification catalyst with a multilayered structure including an ultra-thin layer with a thickness of 20 micrometers or less and containing Rh, Pd, or both as at least one precious metal component, and to a method of manufacturing the same. The method includes a step of forming an ultra-thin layer having a thickness of 20 micrometers or less as the top layer of the catalyst by applying a polymer coating solution containing a polymer having a functional group capable of chelating with the precious metal component(s) on the surface of the multilayer structure of the catalyst. The disclosed catalyst exhibits improved removal efficiency for THC, CO, and NOx contained compared to an existing thin film-type catalyst. Since the disclosed catalyst is coated with a thin coating layer containing at least a portion of precious metal components, the disclosed catalyst exhibits improved performance while using the same amount of precious metal components as in conventional catalysts.

In the method, a first temperature upstream from the at least one exhaust-gas aftertreatment component is ascertained, a second temperature downstream from the exhaust-gas aftertreatment component is ascertained, and the exhaust-gas mass flow of the internal combustion engine is ascertained as a function of a first temperature difference between the first and the second temperature and a heating power of the electric heating element, and the internal combustion engine is controlled as a function of the exhaust-gas mass flow.

摘要: Modestly modified automotive engine powered generator systems to substantially improve capability for providing renewable electricity powered grid reliability and energy storage are disclosed. The use of these engines to improve capability for non-grid electricity generation, including affordable and clean fast charging of electric vehicles, is also disclosed. In one embodiment, these automotive engines use high RPM and stoichiometric air fuel ratio operation so as to provide the advantages of substantially reduced cost and NOx emissions. These engines also have multifuel capability that provides highly flexible use of low carbon fuels (such as hydrogen, methanol and ammonia) as well as the use of present fuels that are widely available. When these low-carbon fuels are produced with excess electricity from the grid and supplied to the grid when there is an electricity-supply shortfalls, they can serve as a means of energy storage.
