Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for stitching are provided. The apparatus includes a separator for separating in a separation position the leading end and the trailing end from a working surface to form a separation space, a stitcher unit with a stitcher foot to support the leading end and the trailing end from the separation space and a stitcher head for stitching the leading end and the trailing end on the stitcher foot from outside the separation space, a stitcher drive for driving the stitcher unit, a separator drive for retracting the separator, and a control unit to control the separator drive and the stitcher drive simultaneously such that, during the stitching, the separator is retracted in the stitching direction ahead of the stitcher unit.
Abstract:
A plastic film has opposite side edge portions superposed and heat sealed with each other longitudinally thereof in accordance with an improved method so as to adequately heat seal the side edge portions with each other so as not to be low in seal strength and not to be impaired in appearance. A pair of heaters is disposed on the opposite side edge portions. The heaters have heating surfaces spaced from and opposed to each other and operative to preheat the side edge portions. A plurality of suction holes is formed in each of the heating surfaces. The side edge portions are attracted by the suction holes to be brought into contact with the heating surfaces.
Abstract:
A method of forming a structural tube may include urging a substantially flat thermoplastic sandwich sheet against a mandrel and heating the thermoplastic sandwich sheet to a temperature below a glass transition temperature. The method may further include allowing the thermoplastic sandwich sheet to cool and removing the mandrel, thereby forming a tube portion.
Abstract:
A method for producing a cup from a flat segment and a pot-like base, including the steps of winding the flat segment onto a winding mandrel, so that there is an overlap in the region of the side edges of the segment, connecting the sections, which adjoin the side edges, in the region of the overlap, so that a conical sleeve is produced, inserting the pot-like base into the conical sleeve, and connecting a circumferential wall of the pot-like base in a substantially liquid-tight manner to an inner face of the sleeve.
Abstract:
A device for manufacturing circumferentially closed tubular tube bodies, comprising conveying means for conveying the substrate in a conveying direction, and also comprising tube-forming means which are designed to form a web-like substrate, which has a first and a second longitudinal edge, into a tubular form in which, in the circumferential direction, the first and the second longitudinal edge form or delimit a contact region, in particular abutting or overlapping region, which extends in the conveying direction, wherein the tube-forming means effect the shaping of the substrate into the tubular form in a shaping region and comprise welding means for welding the tubular form at a weld circumferential position, first sensor means, which are upstream of the shaping region; in the conveying direction, for detecting the position of the substrate web, setting means for setting the position of the substrate web transversely with respect to the conveying direction, and first control means which are designed to actuate the setting means, taking into consideration the measurement values from the first sensor means, such that the web-like substrate is held in a setpoint position transversely with respect to the conveying direction or such that the web-like substrate is adjusted in the direction of the setpoint position.
Abstract:
In the method for producing a tire carcass ply for a vehicle, the ply is wound onto a drum and contains reinforcements running in planes that are radial to an axis of the drum, of which: at least one assembly member (51, 52) mounted such that it can move in relation to the drum brings the ends of the ply together and assembles them by travelling over the ply in a direction (X) parallel to the ends; and prior to assembly, a blade independent of the one or of each assembly member extends between the drum and the ends without extending between the drum and the rest of the ply.
Abstract:
A thin ribbon spirally wound polymer conduit and method of forming, wherein a helical reinforcing bead is interposed adjacent overlapping layers of ribbon. Further, a method of continuously forming spirally wound conduit wherein a sacrificial layer, preferably having a different base polymer to that of the conduit, is first applied to the former before the conduit is formed overtop.
Abstract:
A film tube installed and sealed in a hollow composite part acts as an internal vacuum bag that eliminates the need for an internal mandrel to react compaction forces applied by autoclave pressure during curing of the part.
Abstract:
A device to inspect a longitudinal heat seal in tubular bag material. The seal is formed by a heated sealing bar (14). Downstream of the bar (14) is a heat sensing camera (20) that sends a signal to a central processing unit (21). The unit (21) will then identify any faults in the seal.
Abstract:
A stitcher (1) for connecting strips of rubber material (4, 5) into a substantially continuous strip according to this invention comprises a surface (3), a stitching head (6) placed over it having a stitch unit (7) for stitching the strips of rubber material together along a stitch line, which stitch line includes an angle α having a longitudinal direction (L) of the continuous strip, a drive mechanism for driving a relative movement of the stitching head with respect to the surface along a first (X) and a second (Y) direction, wherein the second direction is oriented transverse to the first direction, and a control device (11) for controlling the drive mechanism such that the stitch unit follows the stitch line. In one embodiment the stitching head is rotatably connected to the drive mechanism wherein the axis of rotation extends transverse to the surface. The stitching head furthermore comprises a wheel (15) that is placed at a distance from the axis of rotation, wherein the wheel with its tread abuts the surface.
