摘要: A polyolefin composition made from or containing: A) from 55 to 75 wt % of a polyethylene having a density of 0.920 to 0.940 g/cm3 and a fraction soluble in xylene (XSA) of less than 10%, based upon the weight of the polyethylene; B) from 25 to 45 wt. % of a copolymer of ethylene with one or more comonomers selected from α-olefins having formula HC2═CHRI, where RI is an alkyl radical, linear or branched, having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, made from or containing from 50 to 70 wt. %, based upon the weight of the copolymer of ethylene, of ethylene and having a fraction soluble in xylene (XSB) of at least about 50 wt. %, based upon the weight of the copolymer of ethylene; the polyolefin composition having a flexural modulus of less than 260 MPa as measured according to ISO 178. The polyolefin composition is useful for producing geomembranes.

摘要: Method of making a balloon catheter includes melt-extruding a thermoplastic polymeric material into a tube, cooling the extruded tube, placing the extruded tube within a capture member and biaxially orienting the polymeric material of the extruded tube while simultaneously tapering at least a section of the extruded tube by radially expanding the extruded tube with pressurized media in the tube lumen and axially expanding the extruded tube with an external load applied on at least one end of the tube as an external heat supply traverses longitudinally from a first end to a second end of the extruded tube in the capture member, wherein an overall axial load on the tubing is varied as at least a section of the tube is heated. The method includes cooling the expanded tube to form a tapered biaxially oriented nonporous thermoplastic polymer tubular member and sealingly securing a balloon proximate a distal end of the tubular member.

摘要: The instant invention provides a polyethylene blend-composition suitable for blown films, and films made therefrom. The polyethylene blend-composition suitable for blown films according to the present invention comprises the melt blending product of: (a) from 0.5 to 4 percent by weight of a low density polyethylene having a density in the range of from 0.915 to 0.935 g/cm3, and a melt index (I2) in the range of from greater than 0.8 to less than or equal to 5 g/10 minutes, and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) in the range of from 6 to 10; (b) 90 percent or greater by weight of a linear low density polyethylene composition has a density in the range of 0.900 to 0.935 g/cm3, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) in the range of 1.5 to 4.5, a melt index (I2) in the range of 0.1 to 5 g/10 minutes, a molecular weight distribution (Mz/Mw) in the range of less than 3, vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.1 vinyls per one thousand carbon atoms present in the backbone of said composition, and a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in the range from 1 to less than 2; (c) optionally a hydrotalcite based neutralizing agent; (d) optionally one or more nucleating agents; (e) and optionally one or more antioxidants.

摘要: A microporous battery separator is provided having a first co-extruded multilayered portion and a second co-extruded multilayered portion. The two portions are bonded together. In a preferred embodiment, the battery separator has two substantially identical multilayered portions bonded together face-to-face. Each of the two multilayered portions has at least one strength layer and at least one shutdown layer. Methods for making the battery separators are also provided. Preferably, a tubular multilayered film is extruded, and collapsed onto itself to form a multilayered battery separator precursor. The precursor is then bonded and annealed before it is stretched to form a microporous multilayer battery separator.

摘要: One or more implementations of a multi-layered bag with reinforced seals include an outer layer or bag and an inner layer or bag positioned within the outer layer or bag. The multi-layered bag further includes a draw tape positioned near the opening of the multi-layered bag. The draw tape can allow a user to at least partially close the multi-layered bag by drawing the layers of the bag together. The multi-layered bag further includes one or more tape seals that bond the draw tape to layers of the bag. The tape seals can be reinforced and include at least seven plies bonded together. One or more implementations further include methods of forming multi-layered bags with reinforced seals.
