    Abstract: A process for forming irrigation drip tape includes, broadly, the steps of a) supplying a longitudinally continuous strip of flexible plastic material in a first direction; b) heating a narrow band of the strip along a longitudinal axis thereof; c) depositing a continuous bead of material on an upper surface of the strip, along the narrow band, while the strip moves in the one direction; d) cooling the strip and the bead; e) folding the strip longitudinally so that the longitudinal edges overlap; and f) sealing said longitudinal edges to form a tubular drip tape with a longitudinal, overlapped seam, with the bead extending parallel to the seam and in opposed, facing relationship thereto. Apparatus for carrying out the process includes a first supply station adapted to supply a continuous length of flexible material; a second station including a trimmer roll and a pair of associated knife blades arranged to trim opposite longitudinal edges of the material to form a strip of predetermined width: a third station including a slitter wheel arranged to cut axially spaced longitudinal slits in the strip; a fourth station for applying a pre-formed bead of material onto a surface of the strip, the bead having one or more secondary flow paths formed therein; and a fifth station including a plurality of rollers arranged to wrap the strip about a mandrel into tubular form; a nozzle arranged to apply an adhesive bead along one of the longitudinal edges of the strip; and at least one pressure roller for applying pressure along the longitudinal edge to form a bonded seam between the longitudinal edges of the strip.

    Abstract: A guiding device for guiding a sheet of packaging material in a packaging machine for producing sealed packages includes: a plurality of folding rollers defining a passage for the sheet of packaging material, the passage having a longitudinal axis, wherein the plurality of folding rollers are configured to cause a first longitudinal edge of the sheet of packaging material to superimpose to a second longitudinal edge of the sheet of packaging material, opposite the first longitudinal edge, wherein the first longitudinal edge and the second longitudinal edge define an overlapping area having an extension, wherein the plurality of folding rollers include: a group of first folding rollers configured to rotate around first rotation axes, and at least one second folding roller configured to rotate around a second rotation axis, and a driving arrangement configured to move the at least one second folding roller towards and away from the longitudinal axis.

    Abstract: A device for manufacturing circumferentially closed tubular tube bodies, comprising conveying means for conveying the substrate in a conveying direction, and also comprising tube-forming means which are designed to form a web-like substrate, which has a first and a second longitudinal edge, into a tubular form in which, in the circumferential direction, the first and the second longitudinal edge form or delimit a contact region, in particular abutting or overlapping region, which extends in the conveying direction, wherein the tube-forming means effect the shaping of the substrate into the tubular form in a shaping region and comprise welding means for welding the tubular form at a weld circumferential position, first sensor means, which are upstream of the shaping region; in the conveying direction, for detecting the position of the substrate web, setting means for setting the position of the substrate web transversely with respect to the conveying direction, and first control means which are designed to actuate the setting means, taking into consideration the measurement values from the first sensor means, such that the web-like substrate is held in a setpoint position transversely with respect to the conveying direction or such that the web-like substrate is adjusted in the direction of the setpoint position.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for constructing a tubular assembly 40 comprising an inner portion (24) and a further portion (23) surrounding the inner portion. The inner portion (24) comprises reinforcement (37) and the further portion (23) being formed from a strip (50) of material comprising two opposed longitudinal marginal side portions (53). The apparatus comprises an assembly station (220) comprising a wall (253). The apparatus comprises means for advancing the inner portion (21) along a first path (231) extending passed the wall (253), and means for advancing the strip (50) along a second path (232) and causing the strip to encircle the wall (253) and thereby wrap about and surround the inner portion (21). The apparatus further comprises means (321) for introducing resinous binder into the reinforcement (37) as the strip (50) is being wrapped about the inner portion (21).
