摘要: A recreational off-highway vehicle includes side-by-side passenger and driver seats held within a chassis. The seats sit low in the chassis and are covered by a roll cage. Grab handles are positioned on the sides of the passenger seat. Select large round tubing protects the vehicle, while rectangular tubing frames the portions of the vehicle beneath body panels. The vehicle is powered by an engine rearward of the seats that is connected to a transaxle. A radiator is positioned above the engine. A cover with an access panel is situated between the engine and the passenger seats. The vehicle is suited for rough terrain travel.

摘要: A system for modifying the range capability of an electric vehicle includes a vehicle body having a front axle and a rear module secured to the vehicle body. The rear module includes a rear axle and the rear module is detachable from the vehicle body and replaceable with another rear module. The rear modules may include different range extension capabilities. The rear modules may include a battery or a combustion engine that may supplement the standard battery and electric motor of the vehicle. A pair of laterally translatable pins of the rear module may be moveable into and out of engagement with the vehicle body. The rear module may also include vertically extending posts that engage with the vehicle body. The vehicle body may be raised to disengage the posts from the vehicle body.

摘要: A military vehicle includes a passenger capsule having a front end and a rear end, a front module coupled to the front end of the passenger capsule, a rear module coupled to the rear end of the passenger capsule, a generator, and an export power kit. The front module includes a front subframe, a prime mover, a front axle assembly, and a front differential coupled to the front axle assembly. The rear module includes a rear subframe, a rear axle assembly, and a transaxle coupled to the rear axle assembly, the prime mover, and the front differential. The generator is configured to be driven by the prime mover to generate electricity. The export power kit is coupled to the generator and configured to facilitate exporting power off of the military vehicle.

摘要: A suspension is provided for coupling a front wheel with a chassis of an off-road vehicle. The suspension comprises upper and lower suspension arms that each includes two inboard mounting points to the chassis and one outboard rod-end joint to a spindle assembly coupled with the front wheel. A ball comprising each outboard rod-end joint is fastened by way a bolt between a pair of parallel prongs extending from the spindle assembly. The upper suspension arm is configured to facilitate coupling a strut between the lower suspension arm and the chassis. A steering rod is coupled with the spindle assembly by way of a steering rod-end joint that is disposed forward of a drive axle, thereby decreasing leverage of the front wheel on the steering rod and substantially eliminating bump steer that may occur due to rough terrain.
