    摘要: The invention provides a component formed of an aluminum alloy for use in a vehicle, for example an automotive vehicle component requiring high strength, light-weight, and a complex three-dimensional shape, and a method of manufacturing the component. The method begins by providing a blank formed of an aluminum alloy which is already solution heat treated and tempered, and thus has a temper designation of about T4. The method further includes heating the blank to a temperature of 150° C. to 350° C., preferably 190° C. to 225° C. The method next includes quickly transferring the blank to a hot or warm forming apparatus, and stamping the blank to form the complex three-dimensional shape. Immediately after the forming step, the component has a temper designation of about T6, but preferably not greater than T6, and thus is ready for use in the vehicle without any post heat treatment or machining.

At least one mechanical fixation is disposed adjacent the adhesive and extends between the first and second plates for maintaining a position of the first and second plates during a curing of the adhesive.     摘要: An improved aluminum alloy for blending with a recycled aluminum alloy to form a material for high pressure vacuum die casting is provided. The improved aluminum alloy includes 10 to 12 wt. % silicon, 0.65 to 0.85 wt. % manganese, less than 0.05 wt. % iron, less than 0.05 wt. % magnesium, 0.2 to 0.4 wt. % strontium, less than 0.05 wt. % titanium, and less than 0.02 wt. % copper, based on the total weight of the improved aluminum alloy. The recycled aluminum alloy typically includes 0.60-1.0 wt. % silicon, ≤0.35 wt. % iron, ≤0.20 wt. % copper, 0.05-0.20 wt. % manganese, 0.40-0.8 wt. % magnesium, ≤0.20 wt. % chromium, ≤0.15 wt. % zinc, ≤0.05 wt. % titanium, ≤0.05 wt. % others (each), and ≤0.15 wt. % others (total). The material meets the specifications for an Aural 5S alloy.

The high-side switch comprises a depletion mode (D-Mode) gallium nitride (GaN) high-electron-mobility transistor (HEMT) and a Si-FET in a cascaded configuration, and the low-side switch comprises a D-Mode GaN HEMT. This arrangement can provide a safe state operation in which the switching circuit provides a default condition providing electrical continuity between the DC negative conductor and the output conductor and providing electrical isolation between the DC positive conductor and the output conductor in the event of a loss of control signals.

    摘要: A fixture assembly for supporting a plurality of blanks during a welding operation. The fixture assembly includes a frame. A plurality of electromagnets are positioned on the frame for supporting the blanks and for drawing the blanks toward the electromagnets to secure the blanks into a desired position. A plurality of intensifiers are moveably connected to the frame for selectively overlying the top face of one of the electromagnets for clamping the blank against the electromagnet to intensify a magnetic force provided by the electromagnet. A plurality of electromagnet adjusters are each coupled with the frame and with at least one of the electromagnets for moving the electromagnets relative to the frame. A plurality of adjusting pins are each connected to the frame and moveable relative to the frame for adjusting a position of the blanks.

    摘要: A structural component for a vehicle may include an extrusion that is extruded into a first state and then expanded into a second state. The extrusion in the first state has a reduced size relative to a desired final size. The extrusion in the first state is placed within a die that defines the desired final size. Pressurized water is distributed within internal cells of the extrusion in the first state such that the walls defining the internal cells are expanded into engagement with the surface of the die, thereby creating surface features or sealing interfaces with tight tolerances. The relative shape of the die and the extrusion in the first state defines an open space herebetween, into which the extrusion may expand to define the final shape. Some of the internal cells may be plugged such that they are not provided with pressurized water.
