摘要: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for producing a consistent and effective herbal vapor. A sealed container pod may include a chamber wall defining an internal volume within which a pre-processed herbal composition (e.g., cannabis) is located. The container pod may include filters for the vapor produced from the herbal composition. The container pod may also include a support member for holding and evenly distributing the herbal composition within the internal volume during vaporization. A vaporizer may be configured to obtain information regarding the contents of the herbal composition. The vaporizer may expose the herbal composition to an automated series of timed temperature adjustments specifically tailored for producing a desirable herbal vapor. The herbal vapor may be collected into a bag and/or canister for subsequent consumption.

摘要: A method for performing an inhalation using a nebulizer includes filling a reservoir with a medication fluid or connecting a medication container to a designated connecting piece; connecting a nebulizer unit to a control unit and a mouthpiece, at least temporarily activating the nebulizer unit; atomizing the medication fluid into a fine particulate aerosol which is emitted into an aerosol chamber formed by the nebulizer unit and the mouthpiece during activation of the nebulizer unit; performing the inhalation, with a user enclosing the mouthpiece with the lips and during inhalation, drawing air from outside into the aerosol chamber, where the air mixes with the aerosol, and then passes further through the mouthpiece as an air stream and into the respiratory tract and, possibly into the user's lung; measuring a pressure within the aerosol chamber and/or a flow rate through the aerosol chamber or the mouthpiece using the control unit; activating the nebulizer unit with each breath on occurrence of at least one activation criterion detected using the control unit; and deactivating the nebulizer unit with fulfilment of at least one stop criterion, wherein from a degree of fulfilment of the at least one activation and/or stop criterion, a weighted average value is formed and the inhalation is started when the weighted average value exceeds a threshold value.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method for manufacturing an aperture plate includes depositing a releasable seed layer above a substrate, applying a first patterned photolithography mask above the releasable seed layer, the first patterned photolithography mask having a negative pattern to a desired aperture pattern, electroplating a first material above the exposed portions of the releasable seed layer and defined by the first mask, applying a second photolithography mask above the first material, the second photolithography mask having a negative pattern to a first cavity, electroplating a second material above the exposed portions of the first material and defined by the second mask, removing both masks, and etching the releasable seed layer to release the first material and the second material. The first and second material form an aperture plate for use in aerosolizing a liquid. Other aperture plates and methods of producing aperture plates are described according to other embodiments.

摘要: Provided is a system (10) for determining a probability of an asthma exacerbation in a subject. The system comprises an inhaler (100) for delivering a rescue medicament to the subject. The inhaler has a use-detection system (12B) configured to determine a rescue inhalation performed by the subject using the first inhaler. A sensor system (12A) is configured to measure a parameter relating to airflow during the rescue inhalation. The system further comprises a processor (14) configured to determine a number of the rescue inhalations during a first time period, and receive the parameter measured for at least some of the rescue inhalations. The processor determines, using a weighted model, the probability of the asthma exacerbation based on the number of rescue inhalations and the parameters. The model is weighted such that the number of rescue inhalations is more significant in the probability determination than the parameters.
