摘要: A multi-function, modular pump system can have a portable infusion pump configured for ambulatory use. The portable infusion pump can have a battery, a portable user interface, and a docking module or controller/container. The docking module or controller/container can have a security feature configured to prevent removal or unauthorized access and a pump mount configured to engage and stabilize the pump within the container, allow pump to maintain infusion continuity when removed, and enable rapid disengagement when authorized. An external user interlace can allow for control of the contained pump, review of pump run status, log event history, settings, and configurations. A machine interface can allow control signals to pass from external interface to a contained, engaged portable pump. A power module can be configured to provide power to both the contained portable infusion pump and the pump docking module or controller/container. A simplified extending patient control can be configured to provide a bolus dose. The portable pump can be configurable for use in two modes: portable mode, and secured mode.

摘要: The invention provides an inhaler with a monitor having one or more sensors, wherein the monitor and the inhaler comprise a mounting mechanism that is configurable so that the monitor can be either detachably or permanently attached to the inhaler. The mounting mechanism may comprise a configurable male mounting member having a primary clip member and a secondary clip member, and a corresponding female mounting member which is a slot. The design provides both the removable and the fixed options, and only a simple additional step is necessary during assembly to select the desired configuration.

摘要: The invention comprises a method of operating a breathing apparatus comprising measuring a baseline breath flow parameter being respiratory rate and/or tidal volume or a parameter derived therefrom, varying the flow rate provided by the breathing apparatus, measuring a current breath flow parameter being respiratory rate and/or tidal volume or a parameter derived therefrom, comparing the baseline and current breath flow parameters, and altering operation of the breathing apparatus based on the comparison. The invention also comprises a breathing apparatus that implements the above method.

摘要: The invention provides a computer implemented method of controlling a positive airway pressure device for providing ventilation support therapy, wherein the positive airway pressure device is configured to deliver pressurized air to a subject, during subject inspiration and expiration, according to a therapeutic pressure protocol. The method comprises receiving physiological data from a physiological sensor arrangement; running a detection algorithm to determine an expiration pressure burden based on physiological data; running a pressure adjustment algorithm, wherein the pressure adjustment algorithm is configured to generate a pressure adjustment instruction for adjusting the therapeutic pressure protocol based on the determined expiration pressure burden; and outputting the pressure adjustment instruction to adjust the therapeutic pressure protocol based on the determined expiration pressure burden. In another aspect, the invention provides a ventilation support system.

摘要: A system of treating atelectasis is provided that includes a tracheal tube positioned within an airway of a ventilated patient and an acoustic sensor coupled to the tracheal tube. The system also includes a monitor communicatively coupled to the acoustic sensor. The monitor includes a processor configured to receive a baseline signal from the acoustic sensor. The processor is configured to provide control instructions to adjust a pressure of a gas mixture delivered to the airway through the tracheal tube. The processor is also configured to receive an updated signal from the acoustic sensor after the adjustment and identify a change in airway openness of lungs of the ventilated patient caused by the adjustment of the pressure. Further, identifying the change is based on the baseline signal and the updated signal.
