Abstract: Deformable valves and atomizer designs for a vaporizer (e.g., electronic cigarette). The vaporizer may be used for vaporization of liquid and/or organic material. The vaporizer may enable enhanced flow control of fluid and may generate high quality and quantity of vapor efficiently. In some instances, flow path of the vaporizer may allow bulk fluid flow, e.g., in contrast to capillary flow, to deliver fluid to a vicinity of the vaporizer. In some instances, the vaporizer may utilize improved atomizer designs for vaporizing devices, where said designs can be configured optionally, with various embodiments of a breath-modulating deformable valve.

Abstract: A positive exhalation pressure device (1) is described. The device (1) comprises a housing (2) having an annular chamber (5), a chamber inlet (6) configured to permit air into the chamber, a chamber outlet (7) configured to permit air out of the chamber, and a mouthpiece (8) in fluid communication with the chamber inlet. A movable body such as a ball (3) is disposed in the housing within the annular chamber and configured to revolve around the annular chamber in response to flow of air through the chamber from the chamber inlet to the chamber outlet. The movable body is configured to at least partially block the chamber outlet as it revolves around the annular chamber causing cyclical fluctuations in airflow resistance.

Abstract: A heart pump including a housing forming a cavity including at least one inlet and at least one outlet, an impeller provided within the cavity, the impeller including vanes for urging fluid from the inlet to the outlet upon rotation of the impeller, a drive that rotates the impeller within the cavity, a magnetic bearing including at least one bearing coil that controls an axial position of the impeller within the cavity and a controller. The controller includes an electronic processing device that monitors changes in a bearing indicator in response to a perturbation in blood flow, the bearing indicator being at least partially indicative of operation of the magnetic bearing and controls the drive to thereby selectively change a rotational speed of the impeller at least partially in accordance with changes in the bearing indicator.

Abstract: The Bone Dust Trap for collecting bone dust during various surgical procedures for subsequent bone graft implantation. The device includes cylindrical housing unit covered with the lid, attached to the central pipe with the porous tip. The pipe connects the cyclone forming mechanism and filtrating membrane, located at the lower part of the central pipe. The membrane interlinks with the plurality of porous plates located along the walls of the cylinder. The cyclone forming mechanism, consisting of the inlet port with conical jet and the spiral helix, creates spiral movement of the incoming fluid. The liquid is further directed towards the 2-stage filtrating system with the said porous plates, where larger bone particles are accumulated, and then to the filtrating membrane, which collects smaller particles. The fluid is extracted through the central pipe. The lid can be removed to collect the bone particles from plates and membrane.
