摘要: Sensing airflow and delivering therapeutic gas to a patient. At least some of the example embodiments are methods including: titrating a patient with therapeutic gas during a period of time when a flow state of breathing orifices is in a first state, the titrating results in a prescription titration volume; and then delivering the prescription titration volume of therapeutic gas to the patient when the flow state of the breathing orifices is in a second state different than the first state, the delivering only to the breathing orifices open to flow.

摘要: A system includes a guidance device that provides feedback to a user to compress a patient's chest at a rate of between about 90 and 110 compressions per minute and at a depth of between about 4.5 centimeters to about 6 centimeters. The system includes a pressure regulation system having a pressure-responsive valve that is configured to be coupled to a patient's airway. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed during successive chest compressions in order to permit removal at least about 200 ml from the lungs in order to lower intracranial pressure to improve survival with favorable neurological function. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed until the negative pressure within the patient's airway reaches about −7 cm H2O, at which time the pressure-responsive valve is configured to open to provide respiratory gases to flow to the lungs through the pressure-responsive valve.

摘要: An aspect of the disclosure is a diagnostic system. The diagnostic system includes a communications interface, an output gas interface, one or more sensors, and a controller that is configured to execute a diagnostic procedure. The diagnostic procedure causes the controller to transmit one or more commands to the oxygen concentrator using the communications interface, to obtain the one or more gas property measurements from the one or more sensors during operation of the oxygen concentrator, and to determine a diagnostic result by comparing the one or more gas property measurements obtained from the one or more sensors during operation of the oxygen concentrator to a testing standard described by the diagnostic procedure. The diagnostic procedure also causes the controller to output information regarding the diagnostic result for display to a user.

摘要: A portable oxygen concentrator designed for medical use where the sieve beds, adsorbers, are designed to be replaced by a patient. The concentrator is designed so that the beds are at least partially exposed to the outside of the system and can be easily released by a simple user-friendly mechanism. Replacement beds may be installed easily by patients, and all gas seals will function properly after installation.

摘要: Resuscitation/ventilation systems that include a pressure chamber or cylinder may use a piston articulated within the pressure chamber or shaft to push air and/or a mixture of gas and air into and out of an airway circuit for the purpose of providing mechanical ventilation and/or artificial respiration to a patient. In some cases, the pressure chamber or cylinder may be resident within a canister that fits with a body. The canister may include a motor that moves a shaft connected to the piston up and down, or in and out, within the pressure chamber or cylinder and this movement of the piston may cause a vacuum within the airway circuit and/or the pushing of air or gas out of the airway circuit into a patient’s lung(s).

摘要: A breathing assistance apparatus is disclosed, for use with delivery of respiratory gases to a patient. The breathing assistance apparatus includes a patient interface, having a body section adapted to cover the nose, or nose and mouth of a patient and a sealing interface. The sealing interface includes at least an outer sealing member. The outer sealing member is adapted to attach to the body section in a sealing manner and has a substantially thin section in at least its nasal bridge region. The thin section is substantially thinner than the rest of the outer sealing member. The patient interface comprises a mask body and a seal assembly. The seal assembly includes a flexible seal, and a rigid seal clip, the seal assembly being removably attached to the mask body via the rigid seal clip. The mask body and rigid seal clip are profiled to match the contours of a user's face so that the seal has a substantially constant wall depth.

摘要: Gas mixture used for ventilation of passengers and crew in emergency situations. Depending on the density altitude, it has 7±5% CO2 at 15,000 ft flying altitude increasing to 17±5% CO2 at 30,000 ft flying altitude. The carbon dioxide improves the bioavailability of oxygen in the body. The gas mixture is produced by additive dosage of CO2 to either pure O2 or to a gas mixture having a fraction of N2 and a fraction of O2. The method for ensuring good ventilation in case of loss of cabin pressure, or generally in case of hyperventilation, involves making the gas mixture above available via respiration masks. The use of such a gas mixture also for ensuring good ventilation of people with limited mobility, if such ventilation is required. The prescribed amount of onboard oxygen for aircraft can thus be reduced and flight routes leading directly over high-altitude terrain may be taken.
