摘要: An oxygenator with a housing wall, which delimits a housing space with a blood inlet and a blood outlet, a gas inlet and a gas outlet, has a heating element which is arranged in the oxygenator between blood inlet and blood outlet in order to control the temperature of blood flowing through the housing space. For this purpose, the oxygenator has a radiation source and a receiver. The radiation source can be an infrared emitter and the receiver a matte-black surface, or the radiation source is an induction coil and the receiver has a material capable of induction. In a method for regulating the heat output on a heating element of an oxygenator, the through-flow of the blood through the oxygenator and the power of a pump acting on the through-flow are measured, and the heating power is adjusted in accordance therewith.

摘要: A drug delivery device for delivering a medicament includes a housing arranged to contain a container, a receiver coil, and an energy storage unit. The receiver coil is arranged to receive energy from a transmitter coil by electromagnetic induction. The energy storage unit is arranged to be charged by at least a portion of the energy received by the receiver coil. At least a portion of the energy received by the receiver coil is converted to heat energy. The receiver coil is arranged in the drug delivery device to transfer the heat energy to the container to heat medicament contained in the container. A system comprising the drug delivery device is also disclosed.

摘要: Described herein are systems, devices, and methods for generating and delivering an inhalable vapor or aerosol. In some embodiments, the systems, devices, and methods described herein are used to generate and deliver a vapor or aerosol containing tobacco for use in, for example, traditional smoking or, for example, to deliver a smoking cessation therapy. In some embodiments, the systems, devices, and methods described herein are used for generating and delivering a vapor or aerosol comprising a medicament. For example, in some embodiments, the systems, devices, and methods described herein are used to deliver an inhalable medicament to the lungs of a patient.

摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of nicotine delivery. The disclosure teaches a nicotine meta-salicylate. More specifically, the disclosure teaches a condensation nicotine aerosol where nicotine meta-salicylate is vaporized. This disclosure relates to aerosol nicotine delivery devices. The delivery devices can be activated by actuation mechanisms to vaporize thin films comprising a nicotine meta-salicylate. More particularly, this disclosure relates to thin films of nicotine salt with meta salicylic acid for the treatment of nicotine craving and for effecting smoking cessation.

摘要: Exemplary embodiments of the present invention are directed to stabilized insulin compositions suitable for use in implantable artificial pancreatic devices. In embodiments, purified insulin may be made more stable by introducing an insulin analog that will form a heterodimer with the purified insulin. For example, a quantity of between ½ to 10% of one of A21 desamido insulin or Lispro may be added to a purified insulin preparation, resulting in a more stable insulin. Various other methods and preparations of stable insulins, and various catheters for delivering insulins from an implantable device to a body are also presented.
