The electrically conductive plastic material can at least in part overmould the base and/or walls of the chamber and/or the reservoir of the respiratory humidifier. The reservoir can also partially or fully be formed from the electrically conductive plastic material. Furthermore, the humidification system can be configured to create substantially equal or differential heating of water in the reservoir.

摘要： A new type of syringe for delivering composite material for direct application of the material in the mouth of a patient. The new type of syringe includes a threaded screw for driving a piston through the syringe in order to extrude the material from the end of the syringe. The extrusion force is thus generated in the syringe, thereby allowing for a simpler, less costly motorised driving system using a torque driving movement. The syringe also includes a localised heating arrangement at the extrusion end.

摘要： A mechanical circulatory support system for a heart having a cooling element and a method for using the system to treat the effects of a cardiac episode. The support system has a pump comprising a rotor, the rotor having at least one blade. The system also has a catheter having an inner surface and an outer surface, the catheter extending proximally relative to the pump housing. The outer surface of the catheter is configured to contact blood when disposed within patient vasculature. The outer surface of the catheter comprises a heat transfer surface configured for cooling blood that comes in contact with the outer surface. The support system is operated to provide a temperature selected to cool the circulating blood in contact with the outer surface of the catheter to a temperature selected to reduce or prevent an effect of a cardiac episode.

摘要： The invention relates to an injection device which includes a handle and a guard which together enclose a movable cartridge which can contain liquid material to be injected, and further enclose a movable injector that includes a needle, the needle being attached to a housing where the housing is attached to the cartridge, the device also including a delivery mechanism whereby the needle is moved from a retracted to an extended position, and independently the volume of the chamber may be adjusted to expel the contents thereof through the needle and into a subject in need thereof. The injection device may be communicatively connected to a control unit so as to provide a dermal injection system.

摘要： Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to devices, systems, and methods for controlling environmental conditions for a volume of material. In some embodiments, a handheld, portable environmental control sleeve (ECS) is disclosed which is configured for controlling at least one environmental condition of a drug contained within a drug delivery or storage device (DDSD). The ECS includes an environmental control mechanism (ECM), thermal insulation material, at least one of a power source, a processor, at least one electrical contact, at least one indicator, at least one switch, at least one environmental condition sensor, a wireless transceiver, a phase change material and at least one heat dissipater. Upon the ECS receiving at least a portion of the DDSD, the at least one environmental condition of a drug contained within the DDSD is controlled by the ECM to be within a predetermined range.

摘要： The nebulizer gas scavenging system includes a condenser positioned in the expiratory pathway of the breathing circuit for extracting liquid from expiratory gases and redirecting the extracting liquid to the input of the nebulizer. The system is further configured to detect the actual consumption of inhaled medication by measuring the concentration of medication in the expiratory pathway and comparing it to the initial content of medication in the aerosol of the inspiratory pathway. A more accurate determination of the amount of inhaled medication is advantageous in certain critical situations involving application of medication by inhalation.
