    摘要: A vibrating anesthesia device with finger cuffs, a pressure switch, and a control unit. The finger cuffs are configured to fit onto the fingers of the user and each may have a vibrator motor positioned adjacent to the fingertip when the finger cuff is worn. The pressure switch is positioned within one of the finger cuffs and is configured to sense a force exerted on the pressure switch. The control unit is configured to attach to the wrist of the user and is electrically coupled to the pressure switch and to each of the vibrator motors. The control unit provides power to the pressure switch, monitors the force exerted on the pressure switch, and turns on each of the vibrator motors when the force exerted on the pressure switch exceeds a threshold value. When turned on, the vibrator motors vibrate and can provide a local anesthetic effect to a patient.

    摘要: A medication delivering injector having electrical sensor pads in communication with a microcontroller such that contact with the patient's skin and the angle at which the injector is held against the skin and the steadiness with which the injector is being held can be ascertained. A haptic vibrator and audio speaker produce a vibration which is variable in pitch in such a manner that biofeedback is provided to the injector user as to the pressure, angle and steadiness with which they are holding the injector. Multiplexed onto the electrical sensor pads, is a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) generator which is operational (at the user's choice) just before and during the injection to interrupt or quench the pain of tissue perforation often accompanied with needle injections.

    摘要: The invention provides a device for application to the skin of a patient to facilitate intravenous access, e.g. via needles, syringes, cannulas or catheters, the device having an upper surface and a lower surface, wherein the lower surface is suitable for contacting the skin of the patient at the location of a vein to be accessed. The device comprises a heat patch, an organic nitrate vasodilator agent and an amino based anaesthetic agent which is an amino ester or amino amide. The device is configured and arranged such that in use the device can be activated by the application of pressure to the patch so as to initiate an exothermic chemical reaction in the heat patch which heats the patch to a temperature of from 50 to 55 degrees Celsius for a period of time of one minute or more. Further, the device is configured and arranged such that when the device is applied to the skin of the patient, with the lower surface contacting the skin of the patient, the vasodilator agent and the anaesthetic agent are released from the lower side of the device onto the patient's skin at the location of a vein to be accessed.
