The needle change mechanism is, in response to the second movement of the shield (110, 310), adapted to change from the passive state to the active state after the hollow needle (224, 424) disconnects from the cartridge, whereby it is prevented that the drum (210, 410) rotates while the hollow needle (224, 424) is connected with the cartridge.

摘要: A needle assembly configured to be part of a drug delivery device comprises a plurality of extendable and retractable needles. The needles are fluidly coupled by a flexible connector, which is configured to maintain fluid connection between the needles throughout their movement. When the needles are extended, a first needle pierces a patient's skin, and a second needle pierces a septum of a drug container to deliver a medication. Once the medication has been delivered, the needles may then retract within a needle assembly housing. The needle assembly may also be part of a partially disposable drug delivery device and may be used with multiple different drug cartridges. Multiple embodiments of the needle assembly are disclosed.

摘要: A fluid delivery device includes an array of needles, each in fluid communication with a respective reservoir. Respective actuators are coupled so as to be operable to drive fluid from the reservoirs via needle ports. Each needle can have a plurality, of ports, and the ports can be arranged to deliver a substantially equal amount of fluid at any given location along its length. A driver is coupled to the actuators to selectively control the rate, volume, and direction of flow of fluid through the needles. The device can simultaneously deliver a plurality of fluid agents along respective axes in solid tissue in vivo. If thereafter resected, the tissue can be sectioned for evaluation of an effect of each agent on the tissue, and based on the evaluation, candidate agents selected or deselected for clinical trials or therapy, and subjects selected or deselected for clinical trials or therapeutic treatment.

摘要: An injection needle is provided that allows design of the size of a needle base without being limited by the size of a syringe connecting part. As a hub, a needle base that is formed to have a through hole into which a needle tube is inserted, and a tubular housing where both ends in the axial direction are opened and the needle base is fitted and stored inside of one end, are formed as separate injection molded parts, thereby allowing the needle base to be largely designed. A needle tube shield part is in a box-lid shape, and the back side of a ceiling part thereof is provided with a tubular guiding part. An edge surface thereof abuts on the needle base, and a side part annularly holds and abuts on the housing. Accordingly, the needle base does not move upon receiving the pressure of a drug solution.

摘要: A single hand operable injection control device (ICD) automatically injects material into a subject tissue at a rate controllably proportional to the rate of movement of the syringe. Squeezing the figure holds rotates a transmission/timing belt that is connected to a position reference member/guide that pushes against the subject tissue, causing the ICD body (containing the syringe) to push away from the subject tissue. The timing belt turns a worm gear that drives a syringe plunger into the syringe held by the ICD. The coordinated motions result in precise delivery of a unit volume/region of injectate into the subject. That is, a uniform “tube” of injectate is automatically laid in the cannula track.

摘要: An infusion cartridge for use with an ambulatory infusion system can be provided with a preattached infusion set to eliminate potential leakage, potential snagging and other inconveniences from tubing connectors. The infusion cartridge can include a rigid housing, a collapsible fluid reservoir within the housing and a dispense mechanism for drawing fluid from the reservoir and sending it out an outlet port. A length of tubing can be fixedly attached to the outlet port in fluid communication with the outlet port. The length of tubing can extend as a unitary construct from the outlet port to a connector that connects to a cannula for delivering fluid from the reservoir to a user.
