摘要: A two-stage infusion set inserter system is disclosed. The inserter system includes an inserter assembly including a housing including a rotatable button assembly comprising ramps and and tab indents and a non-rotatable portion of housing, a sliding component comprising sliding component tabs, a needle carrier connected to an introduction needle, the needle carrier slidably movable from a starting position to an injection position and then to a second ending position, a sliding component spring, and a needle spring, wherein the rotatable button assembly rotates from a locked to an unlocked position, wherein when force is applied onto the rotatable button assembly, the sliding component and needle carrier are forced downward by the sliding component spring, and wherein when the needle carrier reaches the injection position, the needle spring forces the needle carrier upward towards the second ending position.

The expandable member is configured to be positioned over an ulnar region of the patient when the palmar surface of the hand is engaged with the flexible backing and the dorsal surface of the hand is engaged with the base, such that inflation of the expandable member may apply pressure to tissue near the ulnar artery of the patient.

摘要: The present invention generally provides a device for inserting needles and alleviating the discomfort associated with needle insertion. In certain embodiments, the device is suited for injecting butterfly needles and particularly butterfly needles that are attached to infusion tubing. The patient or caregiver loads a butterfly needle with tubing attached into the base of the drive plunger. The needle with tubing attached is retracted into the housing of the device by retracting the inner plunger. Once retracted, the device is activated and ready to administer a needle into the tissue of a patient. The device is then placed on the location of the skin where injection is desired. The surface that contacts the skin may be textured and may include a contact switch that causes the device to vibrate when slight pressure is applied through contact with the skin. Two trigger buttons in the housing of the device may be depressed to eject the needle at an angle essentially perpendicular to the surface of the skin into the tissue of the patient concurrently with the textured pads contacting the skin and vibrating, distracting the patient from the needle insertion. The inner plunger of the device is then depressed toward the surface of the skin to release the needle from the device. The wings and body of the butterfly may be secured to the skin, for example, with an adhesive such as tape.

摘要: A method and system of providing a needle-less injector specifically configured to the needs of a user. The method includes assembling a needle-less injector by positioning an inner housing within the outer housing such that the inner housing is axially movable within the outer housing between a ready position and a firing position. The method further includes receiving a user selection of a delivery spring weight from a plurality of available delivery spring weights. Then a delivery spring having the selected spring weight is placed within the inner housing. The completed needle-less injector having a delivery spring with the selected weigh may then be delivered to the user. In alternative injector configurations, the user may also select one or more of a skin tensioning spring weight or a hammer length along with or instead of the delivery spring weight.

摘要: A surgical device that provides a suction force against a patient's body. The device includes a handle and a suction head pivotally attached to the handle. The suction head includes an open-ended suction chamber having a rim positioned to engage the patient's skin. An actuator on the handle operates a pump to draw a negative pressure in the suction chamber, causing the rim to seal against the patient's skin via the suction force. Once the suction force is initiated, the user may lift the handle away from the patient's body to lift tissue. The lifted tissue provides a site for insertion of a trocar or Veress needle for a laparoscopic procedure in some embodiments. A gimbal disposed between the handle and the suction head provides at least two degrees of freedom such that the handle can be rotated and pivoted to optimize the direction of applied lifting force.

摘要: A needle tube having a needle tip for puncturing skin; a needle hub; and a fluid-draining portion for enabling draining of a medicine. The needle hub includes: a retention part (first member) for retaining the needle tube; an insertion part into which the output portion of a syringe is inserted; and a flange-like skin contact portion that is disposed in a manner so as to cover an area surrounding the needle tube and makes contact with and/or faces the skin when a living body is punctured with the needle tube. The fluid-draining portion is disposed in the skin contact portion of the needle hub and enables a user to drain the medicine that has spilled when removing air and is held in the skin contact portion.
