Also provided is a flame retardant heat insulator including such flame retardant and heat insulating sheet. A flame retardant and heat insulating sheet according to one embodiment includes: a flame retardant and heat insulating layer formed from a resin composition (A); and a heat insulating layer, wherein the resin composition (A) contains: a binder resin; a low-melting point inorganic substance; a high-melting point inorganic substance; and voids. A flame retardant and heat insulating sheet according to one embodiment includes: a flame retardant and heat insulating layer formed from a resin composition (B); and a heat insulating layer, wherein the resin composition (B) contains: a binder resin that produces a high-melting point inorganic substance when heated; a low-melting point inorganic substance; and voids and/or a void-forming agent.

Abstract: Provided are methods of fabricating flexible syntactic foam objects from precursor powders comprising thermoplastic elastomer particles and hollow particles using selective laser sintering (SLS) with a porous/discontinuous internal structure. The method may comprise illuminating a region in a layer of a precursor powder comprising thermoplastic elastomer particles and hollow particles with a laser beam of a SLS to convert the region to a porous, sintered region comprising the hollow particles and a solid thermoplastic elastomer matrix having a surface that defines pores distributed throughout the porous, sintered region. The syntactic foam objects and articles of manufacture comprising the syntactic foam objects are also provided.

Abstract: A thermally conductive filler can exhibit high thermal conductive properties with a reduced specific gravity, a thermally-conductive composite material and a wire harness contains such a thermally conductive filler, and a method manufactures a thermally conductive filler. A thermally conductive filler contains base particles and a coating layer coating the particles, the coating layer contains a gel-like substance that is bonded to the surfaces of the base particles through chemical bonding and coats the surfaces of the base particles, and a thermally-conductive substance that is dispersed in the layer of the gel-like substance and has a higher thermal conductivity and a larger specific gravity than the base particles and the gel-like substance. Also, a thermally-conductive composite material is obtained by dispersing the thermally conductive filler in a matrix material. Furthermore, a wire harness contains the thermally-conductive composite material.

Abstract: A low-modulus high-adhesion silane-modified polyether sealant for prefabricated buildings is provided by including a composition A and a composition B, wherein the composition A includes silane-modified polyether, plasticizer, hydroxy-terminated branched polyether, branched polyether epoxy resin, coupling agent, thixotropic agent, silica, reinforcing filler A, hollow glass microspheres and toner, and the composition B includes plasticizer, hydroxy-terminated branched polyether, light stabilizer, reinforcing filler B, organotin catalyst and amine curing agent. The present disclosure also optimized the various ingredients in the silane-modified polyether sealant, and a formulation of sealant having the best bonding effect was obtained. The two-composition polyether sealant system has good compatibility, greatly improves the adhesive properties thereof, achieves a good adhesion and waterproofing effect without needing to be used with a priming coating, and also avoids the risk of water leakage caused by misoperation in the applying of the priming coating existing in the prior art.

Abstract: A repair compound for use in all applications and particularly well-suited for large hole repair. The repair compound includes a latex resin, a thickener, fibers, and a filler material. In some embodiments, the repair compound is configured to exhibit pseudoplastic-type behavior. In some embodiments, the repair compound has a density of not greater than 4.0 lbs/gal. In some embodiments, the repair compound includes hydrophobic and hydrophilic fibers of different morphologies. In some embodiments, the repair compound includes HASE-type thickeners. In some embodiments, the repair compound includes a bimodal distribution of hollow glass microspheres from two different strength/size curves.
