摘要: Provided is an asphalt reinforcement, and more particularly, to an asphalt reinforcement, which is applicable to asphalt pavement without tack coat application and curing processes, and a method of repairing asphalt pavement using the same. The asphalt reinforcement of the present invention includes: a reinforcing fiber layer having a plurality of holes formed therein; a film layer, which is breathable or non-breathable, includes at least one resin selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, polyethylene, ethylene vinyl acetate, polyethylene elastomers, polypropylene elastomers, polybutene, and thermoplastic polyurethane, and has a melting point of 90° C. to 130° C.; and a nonwoven fabric layer, which is disposed between the reinforcing fiber layer and the film layer, is impregnated with an asphalt emulsion, and has a melting point of 50° C. to 130° C.

摘要: A method of making a laminated shingle is provided. The method includes coating a shingle mat with roofing asphalt to make an asphalt-coated sheet, adhering a reinforcement member to a portion of the asphalt-coated sheet, covering the asphalt-coated sheet, and optionally covering the reinforcement member, with granules to make a granule-covered sheet, dividing the granule-covered sheet into an overlay sheet and an underlay sheet, wherein the overlay sheet has a tab portion normally exposed on a roof and a headlap portion normally covered-up on a roof, the headlap portion having a lower zone adjacent the tab portion and an upper zone adjacent the lower zone, and wherein the reinforcement member is adhered to the lower zone of the headlap portion and laminating the overlay sheet and the underlay sheet to make the laminated shingle.

摘要: A method of forming a roofing-grade asphalt mixture can include mixing a bio-asphalt including a partially oxidized bio-source material, a bitumen source material different from the bio-asphalt, and particles to form the roofing-grade asphalt mixture. In an embodiment, the bitumen source material can have a softening point of at least approximately 102° C. and a penetration distance no greater than approximately 20 dmm. In another embodiment, the roofing-grade asphalt mixture can have a softening point of at least approximately 104° C., a penetration distance no greater than approximately 12 dmm, a viscosity of at least approximately 3000 cps at a temperature of 177° C., or any combination thereof. The roofing-grade asphalt mixture can be applied to a base material to form a roofing product.

摘要: A fire-resistant polymeric membrane includes a polymer layer such as PVC, TPO, or EPDM affixed to a carbon fiber composite. The carbon fiber composite includes one or two layers of non-woven carbon fibers and at least one of an inert fiber mat or a metal foil layer, wherein the metal foil layer has a melting temperature of at least about 660° C. The present invention also provides an underlayment, wherein the underlayment is formed from one or more fibrous carbon layers affixed to at least one of an inert fiber mat or a metal foil having a melting temperature greater than 660° C.

摘要: Durable consumable packaging systems for hot melt materials, and particularly asphalt. The packaging system can include an asphalt or asphalt composition contained within a durable consumable wrap or bag without the need for an outer protective container. The durable consumable wrap or bag comprises a woven or non-woven fiber based material, and particularly a spun-bonded olefin material, the olefin material comprising a high density polyethylene (HDPE) material. The durable consumable packaging system provides a simple, cost effective solution to a number of the problems associated with the prior art packaging containers and systems described above, while providing additional benefits to overcome the problems specific with the packaging and transport of asphalt.

摘要: Disclosed is a waterproofing membrane that comprises a carrier sheet (layer A); a waterproofing adhesive (layer B); a protective coating (layer C), wherein the protective coating is substantially free of surfactant and comprises an acrylic or methacrylic polymer or copolymer, an inorganic filler and a white pigment; and a releasable material (layer D), wherein the releasable material comprises amorphous nanoscale silica and a polymeric binder. The waterproofing membrane does not require a release liner, binds strongly to concrete cast against it (even after UV exposure), tolerates foot traffic, and withstands immersion in water over an extended period.

The moisture barrier membrane can suppress water vapor emission from a flooring substrate (such as a concrete floor) up to about 99% relative humidity. The moisture barrier membrane may include a top layer (e.g., a polyester layer), a rubberized copolymer bottom layer, and an optionally removable liner (e.g., polyethylene or nylon film). Methods of installing the moisture barrier membrane are provided.
