Abstract:
In general, the present invention is directed to a building panel, such as a gypsum board, comprising a core having a first side and a second side opposing the first side and at least one facing material having a coating comprising at least one fungicide, at least one polymeric binder, and at least one pigment. The panel satisfies at least one of the following: the board exhibits a rating of 2 or less when tested in accordance to ASTM G21-15 or the board exhibits a rating of at least 8 when tested in accordance to ASTM D3273-16. The panel may also exhibit at least a Level 3 finish.
Abstract:
In one aspect, composite polymeric composition and related materials are described herein employing waste products from the agricultural and energy industries. Such composite polymeric compositions and materials can repurpose agricultural and petroleum waste products for various applications including, but not limited to, building and/or infrastructure materials. In some embodiments, a composite polymeric composition described herein comprises polysaccharides, lignin or combinations thereof covalently cross-linked via linkages comprising sulfur.
Abstract:
A powder for three-dimensional printing including a mixture of soluble adhesive; cement filler including magnesium oxide, and acid additive; and nonreactive ceramic filler. A kit includes a substantially nonaqueous liquid jetting fluid, and a solid powder mixture including soluble adhesive, magnesium oxide, an acid additive, and a nonreactive ceramic filler. A nonaqueous liquid jetting fluid includes up to 50 wt % cosolvents, and an acidic additive. A method for forming a three dimensional article includes providing a layer of a powder mixture including a soluble adhesive, magnesium oxide, an acid additive, and a nonreactive ceramic filler; and applying a substantially nonaqueous liquid jetting fluid including less than 50% water by weight to the powder mixture layer. A solid article formed by three-dimensional printing includes a solidified combination of a powder mixture including soluble adhesive, magnesium oxide, acid additive, and nonreactive ceramic filler; and a substantially nonaqueous liquid jetting fluid.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for preparing self-binding pigment particle suspensions, to a self-binding pigment particle suspension as well as to a paper product comprising self-binding pigment particles and to the use of the self-binding pigment particle suspension as filler material.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for the use of an organic admixture composed of a polysaccharide such as hydroxypropylcellulose and a monosaccharide such as ethoxylated methylglucoside and de-ionized water and minerals such as zeolites for electromagnetic; radio and microwave frequency and radioisotope shielding of building materials such as wall liners, gypsum wallboard and high performance, high strength concrete.
Abstract:
A well treatment fluid containing borated galactomannan may be used to isolate a productive zone in a well having multiple productive zones. The fluid is particularly useful in treatment of wells containing a mechanical zonal isolation system in the productive zone of interest. The fluid is pumped into the well in a substantially non-hydrated form. The well treatment fluid is therefore highly effective in preferentially sealing or blocking productive zones in the formation since delayed hydration of the fluid may be controlled for up to several hours.
Abstract:
To provide a highly bio-soluble fibrous shaped refractory article which can develop desired heat resistance without containing ceramic fibers such as aluminum silicate fibers, alumina powder and silica powder and can be provided at a low production cost and a low product cost.An inorganic fibrous shaped refractory article comprising 2 to 95 mass % of bio-soluble inorganic fibers having a dissolution ratio in a physiological saline at 40° C. of 1 mass % or more, 2 to 95 mass % of inorganic powder having a needle-like crystal structure and 3 to 32 mass % of a binder, and in particular, it is an inorganic fibrous refractory article wherein the inorganic powder having the needle-like crystal structure has an average length of 1 to 3000 μm and an aspect ratio of 1 to 1000.
Abstract:
An acoustic building material and method for manufacture incorporates a homogenously dispersed reactive silicone to improve water repellency and physical properties.
Abstract:
A lightweight cast article that is made by the method of the present invention. A foamed acoustical product is prepared by blending a starch with cold water, then heating the starch/water blend to form a starch gel. Mineral wool is added to the starch gel to form a pulp and the pulp is wet-mixed until wool nodules are formed. The pulp is then combined with a surfactant and an amount of foam water. The foaming agent is selected from the group consisting of a linear sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, a cocamidopropyl betaine, a cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, their salts and mixtures thereof. Mixing of the foaming agent and pulp continues to form a foamed pulp. The foamed pulp is cast into a mold and allowing the foamed pulp to dry forming a foamed product. The foamed product is removed from the mold.
