Abstract: A device includes a receiver, a buffer, a transmitter, and an analyzer. The receiver is configured to receive a plurality of packets that corresponds to at least a subset of a sequence of packets. Error correction data of a first packet of the plurality of packets includes a partial copy of a second packet of the plurality of packets. The analyzer is configured to determine whether a particular packet of the sequence is missing from the buffer, and to determine whether a partial copy of the particular packet is stored in the buffer. The analyzer is also configured to send, via the transmitter, a retransmit message to a second device based at least in part on determining that the buffer does not store the particular packet and that the buffer does not store the partial copy of the particular packet.

Abstract: Methods and systems for enhancing the detectability of electronic tracking messages are provided. Transmitters apply error protection encoding to the payload portion of messages to be transmitted. Transmitted messages are received by a satellite or other surveillance platform employing a compatible radio frequency receiver to collect message signals over a large area or great distance. Candidate messages are identified and the error protection encoding decoded to recover messages.

Abstract: A method for transmitting broadcast signals, the method includes encoding service data; parity interleaving parity bits of the encoded service data; group-wise interleaving bit groups included in the parity interleaved service data according to a permutation order; block interleaving the group-wise interleaved bit groups with a set including a number of bit groups, wherein the number of bit groups included in the set corresponds to a modulation order, wherein the block interleaving includes row-wise writing bits of the group-wise interleaved bit groups in the set; and column-wise reading 1 bit from each row of the set; building at least one signal frame including the block interleaved service data; modulating data in the built at least one signal frame by an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) scheme; and transmitting the broadcast signals having the modulated data.

Abstract: A method receives the symbol transmitted over a channel, selects, from a constellation of codewords, a first codeword neighboring the received symbol and a set of second codewords neighboring the first codeword, and determines a relative likelihood of each second codeword being the transmitted symbol with respect to a likelihood of the first codeword being the transmitted symbol. Next, the method determines an approximation of a log-likelihood ratio (LLR) of each data bit in the received symbol as a log of a ratio of a sum of the relative likelihoods of at least some of the second codewords having the same value of the data bit to a sum of the relative likelihoods of at least some of the second codewords having different value of the data bit and decodes the received symbol using the LLR of each data bit.

A method for intelligent network checksum processing may include receiving a data unit at a receiver network element sent from a sender network element, determining a success count of the sender network element, determining whether to perform a checksum validation at the receiver network element, wherein the determining may include skipping the checksum validation if the success count of the sender network element is greater than the predefined threshold success count, and performing the checksum validation if the success count of the sender network element is not greater than a predefined threshold success count, incrementing the success count of the sender network element if the checksum validation is performed and the checksum validation is successful, and resetting the success count of the sender network element if the checksum validation is performed and the checksum validation is unsuccessful.

Abstract: Technology for an enhanced Node B (eNB) operable to map an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH) to physical resource blocks in a radio frame is disclosed. The eNB can map modulated symbols in the ePDCCH to at least one control channel element (CCE). The eNB can map the at least one CCE to resource elements located in a plurality of physical resource blocks that are distributed in a subframe. The eNB can apply the mapping to control data for scheduling to form an ePDCCH. The eNB can process the ePDCCH for communication to a user equipment (UE).

Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide for an LTE wireless communication system operating in an RF band with a conflicting wireless system. The LTE system includes a first eNodeB operable to transmit downlink communications to UEs in the RF band and to receive uplink communications from the UEs in the RF band. The first eNodeB is also operable to transmit an LTE control channel across a portion of the RF band, to time divide the LTE control channel into a plurality of subchannels, and to occupy a first of the subchannels. A second eNodeB is operable to detect the LTE control channel and to occupy a second of the subchannels proximate in time to the first subchannel of the first eNodeB.
